Steve W (ag) wrote: Its Taken, but with Jean Claude Van Damme! JCVD plays an ex-mercenary who specializes in rescuing kidnapped children from sex traffickers. However, he is haunted by the other victims he failed to rescue. After an MMA fighter's daughter is kidnapped, Samson Gaul (Van Damme, wtf? with the name) must team up with this American embassy son to find the people responsible. The movie starts off rather badass, but slowly goes downhill. Each action set piece seems to get less and less exciting and the movie feels long with its lengthy 2 hour running time. Its a simple action flick with more emphasis on shooting, but I would rather have them throw in more fight scenes once in a while because JCVD is awesome.

Madhuri Dixit went through quite a transformation through the movie. Funny (and a bit scary) watching SRK singing and dancing atop that speeding taxi cab (That wasn't a stunt double and I didn't see any wires holding him on!!)

Matt C (gb) wrote: Watchable enough as a Sunday afternoon movie, feels like pretty much a throwaway entry in the back catalogue of Eastwood and Bridges though. Seems to have grown in stature amongst critics but you kind of feel that's just because everyone is desperately trying to justify Cimino's career. He made one incredible movie but that was it! Move on!

William C (it) wrote: I have loved this film since it opened in 1971. Like Russell I love the musicals of movie musicals of the thirties like the Berkeley films, and enjoy backstage stories. The film is a bravura piece of filmmaking - parodying those thirties films as well as second rate theatrical troupes and even his own films. A must see for film musical fanatics.

Brad S (ag) wrote: Though not as strong as the first 3 films in the series, this one is still entertaining. By not the pattern of the films is highly predictable, but Powell and Loy are so much fun to watch you forgive it. The also a comforting feeling to this series. I now just have 2 more films to see before I've watch all 6 "Thin Man" films. Check it out.

Michael H (ag) wrote: Sometimes it feels like an extended advert for the Director"s other work,, and when you're making a mockumentary questioning what is real and what is not it's probably ill advised to cast someone as instantly recognisable as Ray Wise, but The whole thing is pulled off with obvious passion, the scares are effective and the creature design is fantastic
