Ben Mendelsohn who everyone seems crazy about and I really don't get it also does some really strong work here as well as Rupert Friend. Really worth seeking out this gem

A film that every person that falls under the umbrella of LGBT should also watch. You have to know your history so you aren't doomed to repeat it.
Thomas O (ru) wrote: Doomsday Prophecy: A really bad movie. F/X wasn't good or credible, impossible science tenets (the black hole careening fast through our solar system without destroying the sun, if it even got close to the solar system it would be all over, etc., etc ???) , mediocre acting, violence scenario hard to beliieve (they REALLY wanted to kill them?????), and on and on. Best part of movie was the opening sequence of real constellations, but I can see those in magazines.
Budi G (kr) wrote: Another adaptation from the manga (Antique Bakery) after an anime series, J drama series, and Taiwanese drama series, the movie adaptation stays faithful for the most part to the manga (they only change the names). The movie tries to cram as much as it can, resulting in quick cuts which can be tiring at first, but overall helps the movie find its tone. It has the perfect balance of comedy, drama/romance, eye-candy (the cakes or the men?) and unlike most films, the story is well-done. Having said that, the supernatural element of the story doesn't translate well.

Barbara M (us) wrote: Nice independent film with a poetic flare for storytelling that is a little out of the norm. (Even if you don't get or know about all the movie, music and other references to whcih the director pays homage.) Great to see Kevin McKidd morph from young teen to young adult so convincingly. He easily carries the film and proves he is a talent to watch.
