Derrick M (kr) wrote: Great cast wasted on a pretty thin story of macho gangster revenge

Joseph W (br) wrote: A film beautifully adapted from a great novel! Stellar performances from each cast member!

SueAnn J (au) wrote: A most amazing film. Not because of cinematography, casting or writing but simply because the story was a good one. And I think it might even be true. Interviews with past Nobel laureates (Jody Williams, Sir Joseph Rotblatt, Amayrta Sen, etc.) give viewers information and personal insights into the world's most serious problems. The dialogue is so compelling, so down to earth, one cannot help but want to simply DO something about it. A few cheesy musical montages didn't even factor after I saw the Desmond Tutu interview.

Jonathan S (jp) wrote: While every segment may not be equal to all the others it's still a fun, easy going bit of conversation from celebrities. Steven Wright chatting with Roberto Benigni about dentist trips and dreams might start things off on the right note, but for my money the Iggy Pop and Tom Waits segment is the best.

Tom F (nl) wrote: A really sweet film, good to see it on day of Pride. Made in Cuba in 1993 and surprisingly sympathetic with main gay character/ critical of the regime. The daughter of raul Castro, who has done quite a lot to get the regime to be more tolerant, have a little speech at the beginning. She seemed really pleasant. It's on this week at the barbican, as part of Cuba50, so go if you can.
