Robert S (fr) wrote: Ben Drew sculpts a violent, abusive and thoroughly hard hitting drama which, with the masterful acting from Riz Ahmed and Ed Skrein as the two main characters is massively entertaining. I mention Riz and Ed as the two main characters but in truth each character has a unique , brutal and interesting story. From abusive parents to the killing of children you know this is going to be a hard to stomach ride but the ghetto aura and surprisingly enjoyable Ben Drew rap narration makes for a ride which you know will open your eyes, which is something which the American film makers just haven't managed to get quite right yet.

Therefore, the nostalgia factor really didn't hit home to me. Even with that handicap, Sam Peckinpah's debut is pretty incredible. It's wonderfully shot, moody and fun. I think my favorite shot of the entire movie is the scene where one of the bad guys is shot in the gut and the camera just stays on him while he slowly dies.

Lauren S (de) wrote: While this film is a bit long, it's still an extremely emotional tale between a boy and his horse.

Jonathan S (gb) wrote: Liked it, could be more developed and could have taken away some of the elephants participation, but still I liked it.

Senor C (gb) wrote: For 80s action fans that are big on action but light on brains Deadly Prey is like panning for gold in a septic tank & finding a little nugget. Sure that nugget is covered in a lot of shit but it still is actually worth something. You would be hard pressed to say it is any good from the acting, production values, the script (which is just another variation of the world's most dangerous game) to outlandish scenarios that even Cannon wouldn't dare to inflict on its audience. Because of all of this Deadly Prey is a lot of bad bad fun. If you're a fan of the genre you can't help up laugh right along as Ted Prior might be one of the biggest homoerotic action stars Ive seen down the pike in quite some time...How about stealing a some clothes along w/ those guns?
