Konner D (it) wrote: Bizarre, ambitious, and far too many levels to keep up with. I loved every second of this movie.

Thee Chad S (gb) wrote: A great cast of comedic performers from TV in a movie about a group of friends that intend to find their awful buddy a wife, so he'll leave their lives alone. Funny moments are sprinkled throughout, but ultimately not an original moment to make it anything better than a time filler.

Director John Fawcett and writer Karen Walton (now better known for the series Orphan Black) have taken an already unique take on the genre and managed elevate it to a new level of brilliance. There's so much to take away from this movie but in my opinion, what keeps me coming back are the two lead actresses. Katharine Isabelle and Emily Perkins as Ginger and Brigitte are absolutely wonderful; creating a thoroughly believable sisterly bond as well as carving out their own identities. Karen Walton especially deserves a ton of credit for writing these incredibly strong female characters who defy genre conventions; take note, scriptwriters. Ginger Snaps is gorey, funny, depressing, frightening, disgusting, intelligent, and beautiful. It is a horror masterpiece and it deserves your attention.

Brynn H (it) wrote: I had just finished watching a law and order:CI marathon when i watched this so it was like a vincent d'onofrio overload. In the beginning I just wanted to turn this movie off, it was boring, wierd, and confusing. I dont really like the sixties and seventies stuff, its like creepy and im glad i didnt live in that time. But by the end of the movie i really liked it. It kind of made me sad though. They are all like dead now so it was kind of depressing. and i love janeane Garofalo.

Julia C (ca) wrote: Probably Swayze's finest movie, City of Joy exposes life in Calcuttan ghettos in the 90's. Despite it's interesting storyline, City of Joy is composed of stereotypical dialogue and the all too familiar "man on the road to redemption" theme. It's saving grace is its focus on the lives of the Indian people rather than the new white man in town.
