Steve R (br) wrote: The cg models were amazing. If you like your gc characters to have more than 2 facial expressions, this is a good choice. The story was good (if not a bit unbelievable at certain points), and the soundtrack was well picked (bonus points if you recognized the dj/producer when you listen).

Mike C (br) wrote: Yet another movie that seems to promise sex but really doesn't. That's not a bad thing, just terrible marketing. You cut half your audience who doesn't want to see it when it's not even there. That said, cut all the audience you want. It's not non-entertaining but felt really lazy. After the first act involving the more-or-less friends after sex, there is little to no poignancy despite some solid acting. The movie had really low production quality, almost as if shot with a handheld. It features a variety of couples, supposedly post coital and engaged in real conversation. Of the eight couples, most feature established actors, and three are gay in nature. That's a .375 batting average which far exceeds the gay-straight ratio in nature and indicates writers who wanted something sensational instead of real. Boo. The first couple is fairly moving. Right off the bat, I was making comparisons to the far superior YPF. But the final seven couples are nothing like YPF, and even that first couple is engaged in some pretty unrealistic dialogue even though they make it work. The first gay couple is not bad, questioning what gay really is and how hard it is growing up gay. The second gay couple is Kunis and Saldana and is pretty entertaining and very well acted by Kunis...no surprise there. The third gay couple features a hair band singer and the big guy from Cabin Fever talking about bitches and butches...what the?? Despite attractive women throughout, including the opening scene, Chriqui probably steals the show in that regard as a woman sneaking off to a motel to screw her ex. Absolutely gorgeous. Manning is pretty good despite a silly premise of a random couple having sex and then her making up a story to make him feel uncomfortable. Also featured is an interracial couple who evidently used to work in adult films. That happens all the time. I like these movies when they are honest. The first couple and maybe a couple others hinted at honesty, but mostly the couples were not probably and the dialogue quite stilted...like a guy having some ideas and thinking shit I should probably get this in a movie. Grab my camcorder. I've seen a bunch of these I like but can't remember all of the names and am too lazy to look. However, YPF and Strictly Sexual are two much better films that are not too far off on the theme.

Emily G (kr) wrote: This is a film every American (most especially every bigoted, uninformed, asshole in Arizona) needs to see. These are the events, that we, as Americans, will never intimately know. With the exception of the Civil War and the 9/11 terrorist attacks, our homes have been havens of gluttony, consumerism, and entitlement. The rest of the world is not that way, and so many people do not really know that, nor do they care to find out. And people who so immediately condemn ilegal immigrants need to know (1) what these people come from (2) how in this case, OUR bloody government pushed this country to this. Yeah, World Superpower? The ability to match England in Global Imperialist atrocity, ruthlessness, and shameless prideful ignorance. But I digress, this film (I would call it the "City of God" of El Salvador) it heart-breaking and intense from start to finish. Carlos Padilla, the little boy who plays Chava, the main character, does such an incredible job acting it scared me to the things that child had seen in his life. I will not go into detail about the content of the movie at all, but know it will keep you wide-eyed and empathetic/sympathetic (your steez depending), but know that I have yet to see ANY movie with such flawless child acting or ANY movie that portrays the heart-wrenching resilience of children because while they may not fully be able to grasp the existential significance of their plight, they still see the dead bodies in the streets, hear the bullets at night, and see their friends taken from their homes. (And I watched it with my friend's boyfriend, who is from El Salvador and is exactly the same age as Chava in the film. He left the country when he was young to come to America (exactly as Chava does) and hearing the stories he had to tell made the movie just that more dynamic-- especially when it came to him eventually getting heavily involved in the gangs in LA... because "when violence and crime are all you know, violence and crime are the only option you have if you want to survive... and i'm surprised any of us did.")Anyway, this film is awesome. It reminds us that when bull shit wars go on (or hell, any war), the people who really suffer are the people who don't want to have anything to do with it. Kids are kids anywhere, mothers are mothers, and war is war. *Salud!*

James H (nl) wrote: I shouldn?t have enjoyed it as much as I did, but it did make me laugh on numerous occasions. John Murray is very funny in the lead role and Jennifer Tilly is a delight as well. Clara Peller has a good bit too. Nothing deep or significant, just good fun.

Cham O (it) wrote: One of the dumbest movies ever made. Only later I found out that this one is made after Peter Seller's death using previously cut scenes from Panther movies. In this they shows the most memorable and funniest jaw dropping moments of the previous installments. As usual Seller's is funnier and dumber than ever.,and Herbert Lom is brilliant in these movies too. The entire Pink Panther series is the most hilarious and the dumbest(creative) movie series you can get.

Bob L (kr) wrote: Great 50's B movie classic. Effects very good for the time and budget (sci fi was always given a lower budget than any other film until Forbidden Planet by MGM). Shots of 'giant animals' in their cages are very slick and the spider itself done very well. Apart from lines like "Jumpin Jupiter" and the very, very quick ending, the script could stand the test of time (although we now know the old 'nature + radiation = monster' plot has been done to death). A very charming a well executed bit of fluff.

Wes S (it) wrote: Rushed thin story that doesn't stop to breath, most of the jokes don't work, and many of the characters are a bit too annoying- yet it does tend to have a nice charm to the film and some deeper meanings. Overall it's for the kids, mostly noise, and mindless- but it maintains a fun cartoon feel.
