(br) wrote: Rather painful to watch, but a gripping, emotional story showing the pain and sacrifice made to provide them with some sense of their identity. So many great uses of film techniques really created the mood and set the scene. It was great to analyse it in English class.
(kr) wrote: This is the lamest war flick I've seen in quite awhile. Stilted and stultifying dialogue, wooden acting (blame the script and the director), poor effects, unrealistic battle scenes ... If you can't compete with Saving Private Ryan, you should have something else to offer. In truth, I just couldn't finish it. Oh, and very self-conscious cinema verite camerawork, plus unnecessarily close close-ups. Really an amateurish piece of work- not that I could do any better!!

CHER, FABIO, STAN LEE, SALVADOR DALI, SUGAR RAY, ALAN THICKE, TOM JONES, GREGORY PECK. that government of the corporations, by the corporations, for the corporations, shall not perish from the earth.

(nl) wrote: Extremely enjoyable Sonja Henie musical (one of her best) is helped immensely by a great score, played by Glenn Miller & His Orchestra: the title song, "At Last," "I Know Why," and the Oscar-nominated "Chattanooga Choo Choo."
(de) wrote: I?ve always had a love hate relationship with John Ford, love the filmmaking hate the politics. One of the most notable periods of Fords career was the period from 1939 to 1940 when he released four movies, three of them classics. The classics were Stagecoach, Young Mr. Lincoln, and The Grapes of Wrath, then there was Drums Along the Mohawk which is said to be quite good, but not up to the level of the other three in the winning streak. I felt compelled to check it out, and I?m probably going to concur with popular opinion. This was Ford?s first color film, and it has that really beautiful look of other late-thirties color flicks. I also liked that the film was a look at the American Revolution?s western front fighting against Native Americans allied with the British, not a section of history that?s examined very often. Aside from those two interesting aspects, the film is mostly lacking. The characters were boring, and the film?s view of Native Americans seemed unsavory even by Western standards.
