After the fall of the Philippines in World War II, the Japanese discover that Gen. MacArthur ordered millions of dollars in silver dumped in Manila Bay in order that it not fall into enemy hands. Among the prisoners the Japanese have taken are two American U.S. Navy deep-sea divers, whom they then force to dive in search of the sunken treasure.

(au) wrote: Adrien Brody does well as Louis Simo, the detective who is seemingly unaware of his own desperation to make a name for himself by solving the mystery of George Reeves' death. This is an interesting movie with much to say about the price of fame especially as Simo is the perfect counterpoint for George Reeves' character, a man who did not value his own celebrity status. That being said, the movie itself doesn't quite accomplish it's goals but the journey is certainly worth a look.
