Ken K (es) wrote: WTF! (Wow, This is Far-out!) This is the short version of the movie review. In 2009 Columbia Pictures released a movie called "Zombieland", and it was an amazingly different kind of zombie movie. Two years later, in 2011, Cheezy Flicks (Love that honesty) released a parody called "Stripperland". This movie is, in my humble opinion, a truly bizarre and enjoyable experience. Rather than try to copy every major element of "Zombieland", the writers only made parody versions of the main characters and a handful of events. Like many low budget parodies (the estimated budget was $500,000), "Stripperland" is rife with amateurish special effects, trite dialogue, and over-acting, but it is done in such a way as to be actually quite enjoyable. Many of these movies get lambasted with criticisms like "stupid" and "sophomoric", and Stripperland is all of these things, but that doesn't mean it's not worth watching. This movie has its predictable moments, but it also has some jaw-dropping surprises in it. Basically, it's a guilty pleasure. Much in the way that a gourmet will secretly enjoy McDonald's, or an aficionado of opera will tap their foot to "Ice, Ice, Baby", this movie can easily be enjoyed even by those who prefer movies like "the Silence of the Lambs", "Titanic", or "Avatar". However, as one of my friends put it: "It hurted my brain".My rating: C- (B+ for the fun factor)

Nick B (gb) wrote: Funny as just cause it was set in 2025 and it was made in 1995 and all the shit they got wrong is worth the watch. Terrible story, Keanu Reeves is pretty bad in this but he's likeable. Some ok stuff but nothing worth wild.

Dan M (ca) wrote: This is a great film! It's really sad, but also really magical. I remember this from when I was a kid and it took me away. I watched it again recently and it transported in the same way again.

Carl T (it) wrote: Dances With Wolves is (in my opinion) another example of "They don't make them like they used to" movies. The scale is epic, the attention to detail is astonishing, well executed and the intentions are undoubtably noble. The film can get moralizing (which is hard to avoid concerning the subject matter, and the focus is on the characters), but I think that Dances With Wolves is required viewing regardless.

Steve C (br) wrote: Jim Varney is just great as usual and this movie is good, I mean it succeeds at what it sets out to do. I really enjoyed it. Its a dumb but funny comedy. Harmless.

Jorge Z (mx) wrote: Escobar: Paradise Lost was a huge surprise for me, for one i didn't know it was in theaters till today. Though i liked it a lot, i was wishing it were more of a Pablo Escobar story than it was a dull canadian Josh Hutcherson surfing guy story, because Benicio Del Toro blew it out of the park playing the druglord/caring uncle, charming yet intimidating. Expect glorification of the man, it was quite the dramatic and really suspenseful film throughout especially the last hour, in which is Hutcherson shining moment.

Garrett C (jp) wrote: Whatever Val Lewton's second RKO horror film "I Walked With a Zombie" may lack in its dialogue or plot (which is shamelessly lifted straight from Bronte), it completely makes up for in its masterful mood and discomforting atmosphere. The filmmakers make excellent use of their exotic set, which has a mesmerizing sense of horrific fantasy that is irresistible. It makes you want to stay in its world much longer.
