Sam M (nl) wrote: "Suicide Kings" is definitely not a film of action or excitement, although it does contain strong violence. The film is humorous and a good movie to just kind of be in a daze and listen to the (often extremely profane/vulgar) dialogue. The film is very slow and runs too long, but all in all this film is worth the 5 bucks I payed and I enjoyed seeing it a 3.5/5 for me.

Alex G (ru) wrote: To it's credit, Prison has stunning visual effects--some of the best I have ever seen in a low budget film--and possibly the only quality Band score I have heard. Beyond that, the film has a bland script with underwhelming moments, characters, and execution. This film felt more like an idea for a movie, than fully constructed story. Given how weak the script was, the director really did a great job with what he had.

Marcus H (mx) wrote: A fantastic portrait of blue collar worker life in the twenties. A sweet tale of societal reality versus societal fantasy. In this silent film from 1928, a blue collar worker from a steam ship on a one day leave falls for a suicidal damsel who he saves from drowning. The conflict and hypocrisy of what happens still leave an impact more than 80 years later. With cinematography by Harold Rosson (The Wizard of Oz) and set design by Hans Dreier (Sunset Boulevard), this movie definitely stands the test of time.
