Panchavadi Palam

Panchavadi Palam

One of the best satires ever made in Malayalam, the film is a comic critique on the the corruption prevalent in Kerala, depicted using the activities in a village panchayat. A henpecked politician wants his name attached to a new bridge, even if that means destroying another, perfectly serviceable bridge.

Eric B (es) wrote: Decent IMAX experience, 3D and film were entertaining...

Cody L (ca) wrote: Could have been damn near perfect had it not been for such a ridiculous and anticlimactic ending. Not to mention the final girl sucks.

Jade M (it) wrote: This movie had potential but for some reason never seemed to go anywhere. It was almost as though they were trying to be weird rather than acutally making a good movie.

Cameron E (ru) wrote: While the whole film is satirical and not meant to be taken literally, it's flawed plot does have some very interesting moments, particularly it's unusual ending.

Bill T (nl) wrote: If there's anything you can rely on in the COTC movies, it's horrible child actors, and Ryan Bollman wins this one with his screaming of lines, his wiggling of his eyebrows and his horrendous scene chewing. Sure, Terrence Knox and Paul Scherrer are terrible too, but Bollman wins, hands down.

Noname (fr) wrote: A decent thriller about a strange bug which causes some problem related to some experiment of a kind.. Great acting and well made movie.

Tim M (de) wrote: Hilarious western take on Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. John Wayne is humorous as is great character actors Chill Wills, Jerry Van Dyke, Yvonne De Carlo, Jack Kruschen, Strother Martin, Edgar Buchanan, and others. Maureen O'Hara is suberb as always and makes a great opposite to John Wayne. Fun and enjoyable from start to finish.

Ken S (it) wrote: Bronson is great in his first starring role. This Roger Corman crime flick is a lot of fun and whizzes by at a blistering 80 minutes

Tibor B (br) wrote: This is a terrific 1940s war film, and a great example of inspiring, exciting yet brutally realistic propaganda. The characters ay be quite loosely sketched but there is a palpable feeling of threat looming over the quaint English village. Quite daring, and unstereotypical in that no character is safe and the film unflinchingly shows violence both on and perpetrated by innocents. The clipped acting styles do date the film of course, and the whole platoon of impeccably English speaking Germans pushes credulity but it certainly doesn't feel too old fashioned and the impact it must have had on release is clear.
