Steve J (nl) wrote: Much better than my 3.5 stars would suggest. Brutal, uncompromising, unsettling & hugely watchable. Great acting, especially by Eddie Marsan as the pitiful Frank, but severely let down by an overly optimistic and incongruous ending. Where was the bleak finale?!

Paul A (nl) wrote: depressing, pointless and weird plot, ending was pretty pathetic, got boring fast.. not worth watching. one star for the camerawork and setting, the acting was ok as well

Jason M (gb) wrote: Feels similar to the first but it's about as good.

Walter S (ru) wrote: A slightly emotional but raw and funny Tarantino-esque journey into the life of a salaryman who one night gets too drunk at the wrong time, the wrong place, with the wrong people. A must-see! The ending blew my mind.

Ronnie P (ru) wrote: It's bad, it's way too long, it has a werewolf with knives... but riffing has never been so fun.

Johnny T (ru) wrote: At first glance, Happy Birthday to Me looks like another ripoff in the Halloween and Friday the 13th mold, with a Ten-Little-Indians-type plot and lots of slashings and killings. It's not particularly gory, scary or suspenseful, but it actually contains some good twists and a generally higher level of character and performance. One by one, the nondescript kids die, with director J. Lee Thompson (Cape Fear, believe it or not) using blunt edits and severe close-ups to cast suspicion on characters who are obviously guilty of nothing more than being slightly-to-very unattractive. Essentially a camp-tastic footnote to the late-'70s, early-'80s slasher flick craze, Happy Birthday to Me at least distinguishes itself from the pack by refusing to conclude with its first climactic twist, instead choosing to pile on a second, even more batshit-insane ending in an apparent effort to make sure viewers finish the film with incredulous smiles on their faces. VERDICT: "In The Zone" - [Mixed Reaction] These kinds of movies are usually movies that had some good things, but some bad things kept it from being amazing. This rating says buy an ex-rental or a cheap price of the DVD to own. If you consider cinema, ask for people's opinion on the film. (Films that are rated 2.5 or 3 stars)

Andrew S (au) wrote: The updated story of a wealthy writer of detective stories, and an aspiring yet out-of-work actor who is having an affair with the writer's wife. The writer's exquisitely modernized Georgian manor becomes the backdrop for a cat and mouse game that pits one creative mind against another.

Curtis M (es) wrote: This movie still works, even today. But it helps if you lived through the '70s.

Preston K (gb) wrote: This movie was really good and I liked it. It can be slow. But depends on who you are, cause a lot of people can't stand movies that are slow. To me this movie is a realistic mob type of stuff. Intense.

Scott R (ca) wrote: Some good melodrama set in the mountains of Spain. Although it is slow, it still is well Made and beautiful.
