They found fruit and water pretty easily so it was just a matter of waiting for help. In the mean time the romance was terrible and forced. Too typical for my liking. Good girl tries to fix bad boy and his problems. I think i called it quits when some high school kid manages to take out the panther with little to no difficulty. Movie is just terrible in my opinion.

Aaron B (gb) wrote: A beautifully shot work of art with a great plot and mediocre acting due to the lack of professional actors. Gus Van Sant continues to show that he is one of the most talented directors in the business today.

The film also stars Britany Murphy as Fay playing Beverly's best friend, Sara Gilbert as Tina, James Woods as Beverly's dad, Loraine Bracco as the mother and a small role for Maggie Gyllenhaal as the older Ameilia. What I can appreciate is the unsentimental direction the film demands from viewers in comparison to something as manipulative as "The Notebook" but way too many mishaps that could've been avoided especially when Beverly tried to get her scholarship to become a writer making the experience to quite annoying altogether. 1 out of 4

Matt C (de) wrote: A cynical look at the breakdown of a marriage, by turns amusing and sad, beautifully filmed and acted. Not sure if it is a comment on marriage or the 60's zeitgeist... the non-linear flashbacks are a bit confusing (my friend suggested that that partly means we can't blame just one character) though for me Wallace was a pretty self-absorbed idiot from the beginning, but then I love Audrey Hepburn. Great if occasionally confusing film.

The United States as part of their treaty with the Cheyenne are supposed to deliver supplies. When the supplies fail to show, the Cheyenne begin dying off. They begin a March back to their homeland where they plan to settle since the white man broke their treaty. A military sergeant initially assigned to contact the Cheyenne decides to help them on their conquest."The trick to being brave is not to be too brave."John Ford, director of Grapes of Wrath, The Man who Shot Liberty Valance, Stagecoach, The Searchers, The Last Hurrah, Mogambo, The Wings of Eagles, and Rio Grande, delivers Cheyenne Autumn. The storyline for this picture is very well done, well written, and worth following. The cast delivers awesome performances and includes James Stewart, Carroll Baker, Karl Malden, Arthur Kennedy, Richard Widmark, and Sal Mineo."From now on you don't scratch till I itch."This was recommended to me by Fios so I DVR'd this western classic. This storyline is very interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, bar scenes, script, and sub plots. This isn't an all time great western, but it is worth a viewing for fans of the genre."White man's words are lies."Grade: B
