Logan M (es) wrote: Stanley Kubrick's final film gives just about everything you could want from it: intensity, suspense, drama; all providing the cinema great to go out on a high note.

Senor C (fr) wrote: You know after watching 7 weeks of horror movies it was nice to step outside the genre. I enjoyed the shit out of Across 110th Street. Although this has been grouped into blaxploitation there really is a lot more going on. Although gritty it doesn't feel like exploitation. A great cast that actually gives the African Americans involved some credibility. By far Yaphet Kotto's best role that he is so very strong in this. Glad to have Antonio Fargas involved even though I wish he was in it more. Just an all around great mob entry that if you want to classify as a blaxploitation it's one of the best ones out there. Not funky badass but just fucking great

D M (fr) wrote: The good doctor apparently didnt kill himself at the end of the first one, as he has awoken himself after a period of suspended animation. He is now intent on reviving his dead wife, and heads to Egypt in order to use some ancient techniques to do so. Really not as clever (Egyptian-themed deaths were not as interesting) or as exciting as the first one, but the tone was the same and jokes were generally done well. I see Saw hints here.

Curtis R (gb) wrote: Star Trek the slow motion picture. it's basically a mix of the TOS episode the Immunity Syndrome and 2001 a space odyssey. Interesting fan theory, we are witnessing the birth of the Borg, the merging of man and machine, the realization of perfection and finding the higher purpose that V'ger sought.
