As they brutally kill a family in a remote area, including the parents and their little daughter, the families teenage son, Aigin, observes the slaughter. Afraid of the murderous people, they decide to flee to the coast. The boy stays alone to avenge his families murder. While the questions raised were thought-provoking, I found the execution clumsy and heavy-handed. Too much of the dialogue seemed stilted in its attempt to capture the "back-and-forth" of everyday conversation. Rebecca Pigeon's title character was shrill to the point of irredeemably annoying. I think Mamet's intention was worthy, but the overall product missed the goal. Frankly, I think it received a higher "Tomato" rating that it deserved.
