Patrioticheskaya komediya

Jumping into this film without having seen the first is a bad idea; therefore, watching the previous installment comes highly recommended. This chapter needs some settling into, since the beginning wastes very little time at getting into the year 2015 and building up the Kanna character. Eventually, the story begins to take shape and things get more and more interesting as this 135 minute picture rolls along to the final minute, which is a swell setup for the next film. The effects are pretty solid and there are a bunch of new characters to mix in with the old, which allows for a lot to happen in the story.Airi Taira steps in as Kanna, the lead, and she gives a good performance. Eiko Koike has an entertaining character herself, while the old cast members reprise their roles successfully. In closing, 20th Century Boys: Chapter 2 - The Last Hope has the story, characters, and acting to make it a worthy sequel. Fans of the first should enjoy this one.

Ahmad J (mx) wrote: Not much of a fan of musicals myself, but this really is a very beautiful movie with a great storyline !

Priscilla M (es) wrote: Pretty good movie, passionate and moving.

Private U (us) wrote: steve james shows the guilt that follows the failure of good intentions. Your heart breaks along with his as he realizes the hopelessness and utter futility of his efforts weighed down by the guilt of walking away. Granted its no hoop dreams, but what is really?

Keiko N (kr) wrote: Brideshead is Waugh's chef d'oeuvre, but Fry's film may be the best adaptation of one of Waugh's works. Mortimer and Campbell Moore are wonderful together, but Sheen and Woolgar are outstanding. O'Toole and Broadbent are icing on the cake.

Andrew M (us) wrote: Awful original, funnier Troma version. But suck, but it's good to see just how Troma fixed it up.

Ibraheem M (jp) wrote: Leslie Nelson is terrific but can't compensate the lame script and the quick and careless direction.

Kane L (br) wrote: now, one of my favourite action movies. Doing what it sets out to do with gusto, Universal Soldier sets both Van Damme and Lundgren up as the iconic figures they are today. Not overly intelligent but entertaining enough to beg the forgiveness of a kind and unanalytical audience.

Tracee E (it) wrote: This is a touching story of concern for one's brother, justice, and selflessness. Always a pleasure to watch.

Shawn W (us) wrote: Disturbing look into British Borstal juvenile prison system where you fight your way to the top (the "daddy") and guards enjoy exercising their power over inmates. Originally made for TV but banned due to shocking content and remade into a film.

David J (gb) wrote: I was expecting more war and less confusing political ramblings.

Peter P (au) wrote: Outstanding classic movie. Capra does an incredible job coveying a feeling of well being through film. Plus they use a clip from the plane scene in the Opus and Bill Christmas movie, "A Wish For Wings That Work", so that is awesome too.

E L (mx) wrote: So bad it's good. Well... mostly bad.

Nick D (nl) wrote: This film is 7 years old, and I had never heard of it until today, now I am half-way through it. Spooky, unnerving movie. Are men really that sexist? I haven't gotten to the New Age retreat yet. Julianne Moore leads it beautifully.
