Kedarnath is employed with a local clock/watch repair shop, owned by a parsimonious Adarshan Lala. Kedarnath goes out of his way to help a destitute woman, Maya, who husband is missing, with two daughters, Veena and Vidya. Kedarnath rents a room with them, writes letters to her on behalf of her husband, Pannalal, and even arranges the marriage of Veena with the son of Daulatram. When Maya tells him that she has no money to pay for the marriage expenses, he steals cash from his employer, and tells Maya that the money is from Pannalal. And all along telling Maya that he is a close friend of Pannalal, even though he has never met Pannalal, leave alone know him, making one think as to what devious secret Kedarnath is hiding, and what is the reason behind Pannalal's disappearance.

Gareth Evans proves his directorial mastery once more: the fight scenes are exquisite and, in addition to that, we also get a truly phenomenal car chase this time around. The number of awe-inspiring, fist-pumping moments is still high and the more ambitious premise is welcome albeit not as surprisingly magical as the first one's.

It was a nice, pleasant watch....but more of a "timepass" movie than something I'd recommend. Shahid Kapoor was good. Genelia looked adorable. They looked very nice together. The only two songs worth watching (or listening to) were "Pe Pe Pe Pein" and "Pal Mein Hi." Overall, I'm a little disappointed that the director of one of my favorite movies (Ishq Vishk) dished out such a weak film.

Leighton T (us) wrote: A strange, odd comedic tragedy that seems very much in the vein of screwball romantic comedies that made up the 30's and 40's. Its absurd touches and wonderfully straight-line performances make the film into something quite special, surreal, and different from almost any genre you try to put it in. The way the story takes shape, from a sort of kidnapping, into something more, about truth and lies and the way our lives take shape, makes for an incredibly intriguing story in terms of small themes mixed with what our characters do next as they react to each escalating situation. I found it to be almost perfect until the ending which felt slightly overdramatic (maybe that's the point) and sort of flattened out what had been so intriguing as the movie moved along. Still, the way the story goes from being one thing to another to another is fantastic and keeps the viewer guess, intrigued and even caring for the characters in almost baffling ways.

Obviously there was little funding available, yet with slightly better writing, and some better back stories (any, please...) this movie could have knocked it with the best robo-thrillers.
