AJ S (nl) wrote: Many people are ripping into this movie for it's idiocies and ridiculousness, and are saying it's "so bad it's bad." Yes, I agree with that, but it's so terrible to the point where it's hilarious. My friends and I watched this movie over the weekend, and we were literally dying of laughter. If you watch this movie as you would watch a normal movie, you will hate it. Try watching it when you want a good laugh with some friends.

Ian P (au) wrote: In Secret is a period drama and thriller movie based on Emile Zola's novel Therese Raquin. The story of an illicit affair, obsession love and revenge is interesting yet some of the scenes were boring to watch because of the slow pacing of the film and sometimes used of gloomy background colors and scenes. The wardrobe and costumes used were beautiful and appropriate since this is a period movie set in 1860's Paris. But the ending of the story feels weak. It could have been better rather than leaving it with a feel of escaping and running on a dead end with no choice but commit suicide. Still, In Secret is worth to watch as it is entertaining with its story of period drama about adultery and murder. One of the best acts from the movie comes from 2-time Oscar winner Jessica Lange who provided a notable and solid portrayal of Therese Raquin.
Tom C (es) wrote: This was bad, monumentally bad!!! I rented this because I saw Michael Jackson was in this not an actor parodying Jacko but the actual man himself. This movie is so horribly bad I can not put into words its suckyness. Jackson??s cameo can??t even save this piece of absolute garbage.

Kirk J (gb) wrote: A girl from Dakar, Senegal follows a French couple back to France after they hire her to watch their children. There what began as a sense of liberation quickly turns into feelings of alienation and even imprisonment, and Sembene manages the admirable task of creating a film that works both as a very singular, personal account of a unique struggle and simultaneously as a universal message about class and imperialism with both sides of the story feeling completely at home in each other. To put a finer point on it, it's an obvious message movie, but the characters never feel as if they exist merely to serve the message. Thus, both character and message come across as equally vital and equally moving.
