I suppose the film is as much about growing older as it is about finding yourself in the youth of others while discerning the meaning of relationships ! 3 Stars

Billie W (es) wrote: It's a place where musicians are routinely arrested for even the most banal indie rock. Music is literally underground in soundproofed basements or way out in the country in fields or cowsheds. The movie is basically a string of Iranian music videos tied together with a thin plot and weak characters. But the strangeness of the setting and the better music (the protaganists' music was maybe my least fav) makes it worthwhile.

Paul R (mx) wrote: I've always thought Kiss the Girls was a very underrated Thriller. We Follow Morgan Freeman as a Forensic Psychologist attempting to solve a serial kidnapping / killer case. One of the kidnap victims (Ashley Judd) manages to escape. Together, Judd and Freeman work together to solve the case. They are both great on screen together and the story is thick with tension. Kiss the Girls is a quality Thriller that has been somewhat overshadowed by admittedly more superior Thrillers like Seven or Silence of the Lambs. Although those heavy weights are admittedly in a different league altogether - Kiss the Girls is still a very competent film. Although the plot is a bit of a one trick pony and it can be a bit clunky at times, it looks and feels great with tons of tension and our two lead stars carry it along very well. If you like a good Thriller, give this a try.

Nigor (Academy Award winner for The Killing Fields) and Joyce Godenz (real-life wife of Sammo Hung). Set in Vietnam War in 1976 Ming (Sammo Hung) a Chinese commando led by colonel and his team group up with guerrilla fighters (mostly female) to destroy lethal weapons left behind by the US after the fall of Saigon. The weapons are currently under guard of Vietcong General. The group seeks help of local man (Yuen Biao no name mentioned in the film) with his three-wheel scooter and he deals in black market.Gala treat of slow-motion fight-sequences, with extraordinary tricky and locking clutches, kicks, jumps, head-lock, neck-lock, sharp knife use by both Sammo and Biao are enough to entertain huge fans like me. Movie deserves praise for quick pace, ultimately trying to reach to the point. Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao succeeded in applying maximum hilarious scenes and comedic expressions from fellow characters.
Kevin M W (br) wrote: A twist ending is the cherry on top of this okay thriller spiced with performances by always solid method actor Karl Malden and gliding-by-on-my-looks pretty boy, Peter Lawford , but anchored by the grande dame w/o the self parody that tainted her later work. Look to see the difference between how Bette smooches Karl, her boyfriend, and Peter, her, uh, other boyfriend, its worth the admission price alone.
Huw G (es) wrote: It's not as perfect as its reputation suggests, but is certainly a remarkable work. Despite what must have been a lot of editing, and more than a few unlikely omissions, the story mostly seems to tell itself. There's no real surprises, but the details are fascinating, and the presentation sympathetic rather than sensationalist.

Guido S (kr) wrote: In Woo's first Hollywood film, Van Damme helps Yancy Butler find her father from a bunch of thugs. They hunt people for fun. I really wanted to like this, but really couldn't. A lot of Woo's signature style is either overdone or not necessary: doves, random slow-mo. It really takes away from what is going on. When there is slow-mo for lighting a match, you can see why this stuff is parodied in recent years. The story is pretty generic, but it could have worked. For me, Woo's hand gets in the way more often than not and ruins my enjoyment of the film. I liked Woo's HK films, but his stateside efforts have been comical at best.
