People seem to either set their minds for intellectual comedy, or for serious mayhem. There doesn't seem to be a big market for a good mixture of both. Throw Momma From the Train was a fairly decent hit, yet few people seem to remember much about it in this day and age. Danny DeVito just about hit this one all the way out of the park back in 1987. Throw Momma from the train is a staple 80's film that people should watch when in a funk- believe me it cures Depression but maybe not the common cold.

The action is coherent and abundant, with Lee Van Cleef doing quite a bit in this movie. It's very Leone-esque with lots of close-ups and tight editing. The story is engaging, but is told "in medias res," in that the movie seems to start midway through the story. I found the dialogue revealing plot points to be a little confusing, and I had to look up what was going on a few times. Luckily the plot does come together at the end, although predictably. Overall it's a decent movie, although I'd put quite a few Spaghetti Westerns ahead of it. Not bad for $4 for the blu-ray or free on Amazon Prime.

These mutant insects became very agressive, killing every human being they find. Will the few survivors fight successfully against this nightmare?
