Robert H (ag) wrote: There is much to be said about the look, feel, and style of Man of Tai Chi that pulls very well from old school martial arts filmmaking. From the shot blocking, to the fight choreography, Man of Tai Chi aims to please and manages very nicely to portray a lesser known fighting style. In fact, seeing Tai Chi as a martial arts form rather than just some relaxation technique used by older persons was quite refreshing.Keanu Reeves doesn't add much to the film and is very stiff in his acting (nothing new) which was almost off putting to the very fluid Tai Chi found in the film. Reeves should have stayed behind the camera in this one as he manages to put together a fairly solid picture. While not perfect, Man of Tai Chi has a lot of positive chi to dish out.

It could have been better if the beginning hadn't been too slow and long and the ending too quick and abrupt. In a word, if you are looking for much suspense and horror, this is absolutely not the movie you want to see!
