I thought it's pretty fun, it's not everybody's Cinderella story though. But this is more like the protagonist has the drive for obsession as he was involved in that illegal underground fighting match to earn more money. More like an internet based fighting match. Keanu as the villain, I thought he's ok, not bad actually. You can see some cheesy lines here and there, but overall a pretty good martial arts flick. It could have been better though, like the fighting scenes could be slicker and more fast paced with good editing. But this is a low budget I get it. I can see Keanu's vision as a director. It shows how he loves to make more dark tone action films. Master vs. the main protagonist kinda stuff. He can make more a lot of these and I love it. Keep em coming Keanu! 3/5

Lasse G (ca) wrote: People definitely shouldn't take Stanley Kubrick for granted, 'cause every time he says that he wants to make a movie different from his previous one, he always deliver. "Full Metal Jacket" is as different from "The Shining" as two movies could possibly be, and yet they are also similar in some ways. The concept of insanity lures in both movies and are shown in very successful ways both times. The first half of "Full Metal Jacket" blew me away and I enjoyed every single insult that came out of the mouth of Sergeant Hartman's mouth, who were beautifully portrayed by R. Lee Ermey. The second half, however, was a bit disappointing, because it took some time for me to get used to the new warfare surrounding, which wasn't really present at all in the first half of the movie. Matthew Modine is really good in the movie and he is without a doubt the best thing in the second half of the movie. This movie is intense, it's dark and it's very good and can definitely be locked into the vault of great Stanley Kubrick movies.

TA P (kr) wrote: 7 hours. 4 parts, each of at least 90 minutes in length. A crisis of identity, of what "Hitler" means to Germany, to film, to history, to society. Pithy monologue sequences through long takes, of the minutia of what "Hitler" truly means to us all. Condemning all individuals in space and time for such a creation (which, Syberberg notes is [a part of] us). The primarily Wagnerian score works in parallel fashion to Syberberg's polemic. Beautifully shot, almost ethereal at times, Hitler: A Film from Germany is pessimistic, nihilistic, reflective, regretful, tedious and grandiose simultaneously, and is must-see viewing if one is to understand the historical catalyst of humanity's current (future?) condition.

Morgan S (es) wrote: The music is great, and the dancing is fantastic (whatelse for Bob Fosse!) but the story...meh...I dont I think it was just the ending...Shirley Maclaine isnt bad, But this movie did get pretty long. Buy the soundtrack, watch the dances on YouTube and save a couple of hours.
