Phar Lap, the big bold chestnut reigned as the king of the turf in the depression that gripped Australia of the 1930s. From his humble beginnings the New Zealand bred horse raced on to become the hero of a nation.

Erik G (mx) wrote: Trust no one. Question everything. Get a clue in the mystery. The pampered rich Lexy Gold spends her life amongst the wealthy and elite of Manhattan, boasting herself on her ability to write on the school newspaper's gossip column. When Mr. Walker mysteriously goes missing, Lexy and her working-class friends Jack, Jenn, and Gabe set out to solve the crime case that would eventually save their favorite teacher's life.'Get A Clue' features great acting performances from the following cast:1.) Lindsay Lohan (Lexy Gold)2.) Bug Hall (Jack Downey)3.) Ian Gomez (Mr. Walker)4.) Brenda Song (Jenn)5.) Ali Mukkadam (Gabe)Not only that I'm amazed of the film's featured espionage, I'm also surprised that it takes place in Manhattan, and the kids are rich and are into the latest fashions. Still fresh from her cute and clean child star appearance, Lindsay Lohan does her good job in acting while doing Lexy's job as a gossip columnist, making her an original 'Gossip Girl' for the junior high set, minus the queen bee personality, thank goodness. 'Get A Clue' is a great old school Disney Channel film, in an early 21st century era untouched by the tween school music madness.

Stuart M (it) wrote: Rather boring unfortunately. When I heard of a Spielberg-produced film about a young Holmes and Watson complete with supernatural elements I was rather excited, expecting a cheesy '80s (no, the other '80s) kids flick with a bit more character. Instead what we get feels like a Harry Potter knockoff without the magic, despite being made 15 years before Harry Potter even came out. Watson even looks like Potter, complete with dark hair and glasses. And there's even a scar involved. The 'supernatural elements' are the hallucinations caused by some sort of drug. I've wanted to see this since I was a kid, but it was never in the video stores. Now I know why.

She then seeks revenge on the Johns and the one trick who fucked her, literally. Very controversial movie even by to days standards. Kill Bill got some inspiration from this film.
Michael M (it) wrote: Much better than if...O Lucky Man! manages to cover all the notches of a capitalist society, and all of the mindsets of the everyman. The film is worth a few chuckles, it's shocking at times, and thanks to Alan Price, has a truly lovable soundtrack.
Shaun B (it) wrote: The more things change the more things stay the same. 40 years later and we're still struggling over the same civil rights issues that should be common sense progressive. But I understand what happens as you get older you realize the importance of the almighty dollar. What else can explain how people could be so traumatized over a little bit of nudity/sexuality and differing views over what the American flag symbolizes compared to the travesties of war, famine and disease. But so long as that economy is going strong then we're on track...nevermind about the struggles of everyday life for the marginalized and poor. Fuck 'em, they don't got money. Basically this is an early documentary/spoof of the 1960s culture up to that point in 1971. A liberal stoner's dream or a conservative Republican's worst nightmare.
brenda j (gb) wrote: Gandhi was amazing the most important scene in the entire movie was when Gandhi and his wife did their wedding vows. I loved when they did the steps and she responded by saying I will follow you. Gandhi's marriage was arranged and they knew each other since they were thirteen years old and learned to love one another. Gandhi was a man on a mission and accomplished great things for the Indian nation. The last and not least of everything in the movie he said he would for the cause but he would kill for the cause.
