(es) wrote: Not bad at all but it is caught in its own eighties trap; it looks 80's, it feels 80's, it is 80's...and it had all been done before, making this nothing more than a 'Seen it all before' yet entertaining film. It follows a tired plot invoving a dimwit duo embrolied in a plot involving a sleazy politician. The typical 80's fools are played well by Tim Robbins and John Cusack but they never really got the chance to shine like they have since done. With better material and some memorable dialogue, they would have made great work out of the characters but instead they are given an only slightly funny, though innteresting script but even this has been interesting many times before in similar format. Not much is original here but to kill an hour and a half on an afternoon alone then this is good fun in which you will certainly not get bored, rather getting a sense of djavu.

That is until they meet Scottie, a beach bum who is great with the ladies but is low on cash. They strike a deal that Scottie with help them talk to girls in exchange for some money. Hardbodies is a rather typical 80's teen comedy. It's sort of the epitome of these types of films actually being loaded with lots of T & A and cheesy 80s music. If you want to watch a typical 80s sitcom, this shouldn't disappoint.
