Pirate for the Sea
A documentary on Paul Watson, who takes the law into his own hands on the open seas, confronting, by any nonviolent means necessary, the hunters who indiscriminately slaughter whales, seals and sharks, along with complicit governments and environmental organizations. Written by Anonymous "Pirate for the Sea" is a biographical film of Captain Paul Watson, the youngest founding member of Greenpeace Canada. He organized early campaigns protesting the killing of seals, whales, and dolphins. Greenpeace ejected him for being too much of an activist. Starting his own organization, the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, he went on to sink illegal whaling ships, stopped Canadian seal hunts for ten years, permanently halted sealing in British Isles, killing of dolphins on Iki Island, Japan, etc. This documentary witnesses his latest campaigns and explores the personal and environmental history of this controversial marine conservationist. (es) wrote: Surprisingly good for a teen film. It is cleverly written and perfectly executed, and has a talented cast of no-name young actors. This movie manages to be fun, dramatic, and suspenseful. Definitely a worthwhile experience.
(jp) wrote: Part of the reason I couldn't finish this is it just doesn't really attempt to answer the question it puts forth. It's less about "what if you could change your sexuality?" and more about "what if you could change your sexuality and also become a huge jerk?"
(us) wrote: Well, that was depressing.
(de) wrote: Funny but I really shouldn't have watched it. I really didn't have anything to do last night lol

(gb) wrote: Very professional beginning, with quick unfolding of events and interesting photography, to be killed by a helplessly amateur end. A photographer gets noticed and rises to an unlikely stardom, which ruins his life. He quits and everything gets back to its place. The film picks on cultural behema, but it lacks style and wit. Christina Ricci is a very pretty actress, it's a pity she falls for amateur plots too often.
(fr) wrote: An unusually realistic British comedy about the teenage love between the shy Jamie and troubled Ste, they also need to deal with Jamie's nosy mum and their dysfunctional neighbour. It's really cute and natural which is why I really like the film. It was also really hilarious, but it was kinda sad to see the state of London in the 90s.
(br) wrote: It's hard to understand where the comedy is, actually the movie isn't very good because of the story but the performances and John Huston's direction were fine. Humphrey Bogart played Bogart again and he was charming as ever, Jennifer Jones played a great liar and Lollo was really sexy and beautiful.

(nl) wrote: Though beautifully filmed and well acted... Australia cant help but feel unnecessary and excessively long for a story that tries to captivate audiences and ends up being a "Nice Try".
