Jordan J (it) wrote: For some reason the acting isn't very good. This has to be the last diary of a wimpy kid movie. Please no more.

Graham B (fr) wrote: Based on a Terence Rattigan play, this film tells the story of Hester who is trapped in a passionless marriage of convenience to an rich older gentleman, Sir William. When she meets ex-soldier Freddie Page, she falls in love, beginning a passionate affair. They are found out though and when Hester moves in with penniless Freddie, she finds that her love for him outweighs his love for her a great deal. It's basically a story about the balance of love. Hester can no more give William the love he desires than Freddie can give her.It makes for a pretty depressing film. Weisz is rather good in the role of Hester, but there isn't much appeal to her character. The only one you give two hoots about is poor Sir William. Tom Hiddleston as Freddie is actually quite unbearable at times. He could do with reeling the scenery chewing moments in.I imagine it might be better on the stage, but this is far too maudlin a story for my taste.

Robert H (fr) wrote: Ostensibly based on Steve Harvey's best-selling book, this film uses the book more as a springboard for a rather typical battle-of-the-sexes plot that, while rather formulaic, delivers on the charisma and chemistry of its cast. Speaking of the cast, there's a who's who of African-American talent on display, with Kevin Hart, Michael Ealy and Gabrielle Union among the standouts. Everyone here brings their A-game when it came to the comedy, and no one really felt out of place, even the token white guy. Granted, there isn't a whole lot of character development and certain title cards actually play up the stereotype that each person is portraying (originating in Steve Harvey's book). Steve Harvey also shows up occasionally to quote his book, essentially providing commentary on some scenes. Of course, the final act has the obligatory melodrama and unbelievably perfect resolution that we've come to expect from this type of movie. It might be sweet, but for me it was a little too formulaic and saccharine. Still, the 90 minutes that preceded it were mostly enjoyable, with lots of great laugh-out-loud moments. This isn't the best romantic comedy in the world, but you could do a whole lot worse. On another note, the soundtrack is great and features a good mix of old-school and modern R&B.

Wikus O (ca) wrote: Hands-down one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life. There is so much that absolutely does not make sense, the acting is awful and continuity is utterly hopeless. It doesn't deserve even one star, which is why I gave it a half. The concept is good though. Just too bad it got into the wrong hands.

Michael K (au) wrote: Great action movie by John Woo. Only annoying part is that the "bad guys" need to be SO many against one man. They are cowards but they learn it the hard way :D

Eliabeth S (jp) wrote: Unusual but definitely poignant in its own way. I wish we knew more about Truffaut's character, but the story really holds your attention. I love the last shot!

Sean D (kr) wrote: Let's point a few things out. Syfy's favorite partner ever, The Asylum produced this one and they are obsessed with filters. It's really the same one used throughout the entire film. Let's also point out that we have a spoof on our hands, which is the majority of their films. But this is of course, a spoof that's in a different vein of your typical spoofs. This isn't a comedy film that makes fun and recalls events in the film it's spoofing. Instead, it takes the whole rediculous angle behind Abraham Lincoln killing anybody but confederate soldiers and makes it its own film. Whereas, in the first film, it was against vampires. This one is against zombies. And well. It sucks. The acting is pretty good, along with the production quality and score. But the plot is dumb, the pacing is horrible, and the film is in general....BORING.

Michael K (ru) wrote: A fitting end to Ellen Rioley's character arc, Fincher creates a dark vision of a largely abandoned wasteland Weyland-Yutani work prison and it's small stay behind group of morally/spiritually reborn prisoners who are ruthlessly hunted by the beast as they attempt to destroy the creature before it destroys them after it arrives with Ripley.

Matt B (gb) wrote: There's some quality Wesley Snipes fight scenes in this classic action flick. Unfortunately, it seems like it was heavily edited in post-production, which leaves it feeling disjointed. This is only made worse by the OTT 90s choreography..Despite all that, it's quite a fun film and had me giggling in places.

Bandrew S (us) wrote: Great comedy. Surprisingly dark humor.A bit over the top. Fun 1.75 hours though.
