James B (nl) wrote: This is a fantastically awesome film! I'm not going to say anything about the plot, as I don't want to give anything away. That being said, if I described the plot, it would sound 100% unworkable, yet, somehow they make it work. The dialog is fantastic, and it features a great ensemble cast, including two "Freaks and Geeks" alums. Very funny! Highly, highly recommended!

Chris Z (de) wrote: A very special movie. In ALL the senses of that word lol! Wacky, strange, funny, and very very loving. Tells the story of a strange Japanese family and, well, all of their strangeness. Mainly follows the perspective of the two children, a boy who has a a train coming out of his forehead, and a little girl who is followed around by a gigantic version of herself. The relatives do various artistic things, animation, awesomely terrible music and dance, etc. Slow movie, but really cool in that special kind of way. I mean, in that there is one whole section where one of the guys tells the story of this crazy bloody yakuza ghost who followed him around, but then he was walking through the woods looking for eggs and took a gigantic turd on this huge egg, and the yakuza guy finally leaves him alone. Like what!? haha, this movie is AMAZING.

Dan D (us) wrote: It's so great when you have child actors leading a movie instead of lousy grown ups. This is a lot like "Rookie of the Year" but without the comic timing, entertainment value and good performances. It is, however, a more realistic story if you're into that.
