Joel A (ca) wrote: You got to give to Douglas Fairbanks, in his films he doesn't stop moving literally. This film is a little silly and ludicrous but it's enjoyable just got with it. This was just before he became the Swashbuckler as we all know him these days. Not a great film just a little bit of light fun nothing ground breaking.

Alex r (de) wrote: Silent Running is an entertaining and exhilarating Sci Fi classic with a great cast and a good story. The film is quite engaging, and the effects are well done and like 2001 before it, have influenced the genre. Bruce Dern is great in the lead role, and this ranks up there as one of the finest examples of 1970's Sci Fi. Of course Star Wars would reinvent the genre altogether, but you simply can't deny that Silent Running broke ground in terms of effects. Though not a perfect film, Silent Running will certainly please genre fans. The idea behind its story is quite simple, but the execution is well done, and it would later set the stage for future genre films. Dern like I said is good here, and he holds things together. If you're expecting an action packed thrilled ride, you'll be disappointed. This is more of a Sci Fi drama, but it it's quite entertaining nonetheless. Silent Running is a must watch for genre fans, or anyone looking for a classic Sci Fi film that has a well structured story. Enjoyable, but slow paced, Silent Running is one of those films that you need a few viewings to get into. The film stands out as a great genre film, one that helped shape the genre for what it is. Even if it's not a great movie, it's still a Sci Fi classic for what it helps achieve in terms of ideas and concepts in the genre. Sure, it may be tedious at times, but it definitely is worth seeing if you love this genre of film.
Shane D (us) wrote: The rest of the "Apes" original sequels are a lot better than they are remembered for being. Once you get past the dated prosthetics, you're left with some biting social commentary that is still relevant today. Sure, there are clunky moments here - the next two films are a lot better - and Heston's role is explained away in a decidedly ham-fisted way, but overall the franchise as a whole continues along a solid path here.
Dean M (ag) wrote: Other riveting, based on the story of showdown between the Earps and the Clanton gang s certainly as much a part of American mythology as I believe this since I last watched 1994's Wyatt Earp. There are solid performances all around, beginning with James Garner who plays a hero with a badge, and is powerful in his intensity. And Jason Robards Jr. is quite good in his character, and does deliver a couple of colorful lines to Earp. The relationship and chemistry between the two men is unique. It's difficult to outline, but it's like these two were old souls who would go through hell with/for each other and never need to wonder or to argue it.

Denislav R (us) wrote: I just loved the movie. I was afraid that it will not go all the away, but they went through with it. Iron Man vs Cap. And it was fun as hell. The whole premise and the things leading to events in the movie are kinda silly and the villain is as barely adequate as any marvel bad guy. But aside from that there isn't that much wrong with the movie. Of course there are a few nit-picks, but they are so insignificant that aren't even worth mentioning. Easily my second favorite superhereo movie of last year after Deadpool and in top 5 of all time.
