But it's still an increasingly gory film that will alienate anybody who is not familiar with the first five's nature.

Whether or not it is represented properly, it is still a very powerful film. The performances are top notch, the cinematography is brilliant, very good direction, and one of the best uses of music in modern film.I have yet to know someone who has seen this and hasn't enjoyed it. A must see.

(mx) wrote: Extremely underrated. Great action. Well-inspired storyline. A fine performance by Christian Bale (as well as Sean Bean early on). Add it up, and you get one hell of a fine package.

(au) wrote: James Cagney stars as a mentally unstable gangster with a crazy attachment to his Ma. After a train heist he is being hunted by the feds, and they send a guy in undercover to take him down. Cagney is excellent here, giving a great performance as a tough guy with a weakness (both his Ma and his mental instability, which gives him headaches and causes him to lose control). The film is worth checking out if just for Cagney, but it is a solid gangster.heist film beyond that.
(ag) wrote: A classic romantic tragedy. Robert Taylor is sophisticated in every manner. Such great chemistry between him and Vivien Leigh. Sometimes no words are needed to described how good this movie is, just as no words are needed for the Auld Lang Syne sequence. Beautiful.
(us) wrote: This movie was absolute garbage. A real piece of crap. Avoid at all costs.
(fr) wrote: The film was a bit of a mess. They had a good idea for a film but didn't execute it correctly. The film needed a rewrite. I felt some of the actors were miscast, like Greg Kinnear.
