Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol

A new batch of recruits arrives at Police Academy, this time a group of civilian volunteers who have joined Commandant Lassard's new Citizens on Patrol program. Although the community relations project has strong governmental support, a disgusted Captain Harris is determined to see it fail.

Commandant Lassard decides that the police force is overworked and understaffed, and he comes up with the idea of recruiting civilian volunteers to work side-by-side with his officers in a program called "Citizens On Patrol". Although the community relations project has strong governmental support, a disgusted Captain Harris is determined to see it fail. . Cameron F (kr) wrote: It Maybe off at times and ignores some of the mysterious aspects but it's solid and brilliant. For having 3 box office bombs in one year and winning 3 razzies for worst actor 2003 was not the best year for Ben Affleck although I didn't think he was bad in this. Ben Affleck basically takes up after his buddy Matt Damon because his character in this is basically Jason Bourne. This would've made a brilliant tv show.

Thomas B (ru) wrote: ***For me personally, Jerry Maguire can be a bit too sappy at times. That being said, with great performances from Tom Cruise and Cuba Gooding Jr. and a funny script, the movie ultimately succeeds as a fun movie to watch if you're in the right mood.

Andrew B (ca) wrote: The book "Siddhartha" by Herman Hesse changed my life, so I was pretty much flabbergasted at how horrible an adaptation this was. I wasn't expecting it to be on par with the book, and being as obscure as it was, I wasn't expecting much at all - but even with that in mind, nothing could have prepared me for how bad it was. Not only was it a poor adaptation, but it fails to even meet status as a decent film - the acting was atrocious and the cinematography and editing made the film feel like it was being done by an amateur without a vision. The film hits on the major events in the book, but fails to capture the meaning or spirit behind any of it. Avoid like the plague, but read the book - it's incredible.

A diferencia de la mayora de las pelculas del Oeste, trata de no caer en el racismo, incluso defiende a los indios, que lo nico que hacan era defender su tierra usurpada. Un gran clsico del Cine y mi Western favorito de todos los tiempos ;-)

Daryl K (kr) wrote: Worth it for Maureen O'Hara's earnest, pre-feminist speech at the climax, and Lucille Ball's "bubbly" performance as O'Hara's burlesque dancer rival, Bubbles. The general story, though, is no great shakes, and the scenes are often over-melodramatic, bordering on camp. An early O'Hara picture, she's also pretty stiff as the lead.

Ben D (gb) wrote: Powerful and moving film, but not without flaws. Hilary Swank gives the best performance she's ever given here. She does a great job at making you care about this tortured character. I'd say her performance is the highlight of the film. Everyone else does a pretty nice job as well. The people playing the evil murderers did their job of making me hate them and the other side characters did their jobs fine. The film tells the story of real life teenager Brandon Teena who was murdered for being transgender, and for the most part, the film tells this story fairly well. Only problem though is it tends to ignore the more flawed aspects of the character. The real life person had quite a criminal record, and while they do mention this several times in the movie, I never felt they truly explored that side of the character. The film instead decided to focus more on making the audience care about the main character, which is fine, I just would have liked both aspects of the character to have been touched on with equal amounts. In the end, it's still a pretty great film. The film makes you care and the more uncomfortable scenes don't feel excessive and unnecessary. Go see it.
