Zachary Y (au) wrote: Turturro is an out-of-touch weirdo. This movie shoudln't have been made. A trite and heavily played out plot that goes nowhere (literally, not even showing sex at all) It was like Woody Allen sloppily improvised his lines, costars often coaching him for details (senility?) and the rest of the cast nearly laughing in each scene at how bad Paradis and Turturo's acting is.

Ryan B (nl) wrote: A lot of solid tension ultimately fails to come together to mean much of anything. Still though, I give it credit for its nice tone and decent performances.

Chad D (ag) wrote: A ton of up and coming actors that shine grace the stage in Alpha Dog, a movie that tells an unflinching and incredibly unnerving portrayal of violence rampant throughout a group of adolescents. Incredibly well acted, Alpha Dog is a stand out for many of its young stars and strikes at the deepest of feelings with its incredibly down-to-earth source material.

Jersey Boy (ca) wrote: I can totally relate to this movie! The story brought back forgotten memories, it shows of this 3way love triangle and covers alot of ground on the subject.

Marty B (gb) wrote: I will NEVER understand how this was so poorly reviewed. The interesting story is presented greatly by the two lead actors and you become emotionally involved with every character you come across. Its full of great tension and deep psychological concepts.

Sarfara A (jp) wrote: Pretty much enjoyed it, when it first came out, this film has got comedy and few close-to-tears scenes.

Julia M (ru) wrote: This movie is beautiful. I love the music, rhythm and the cast of characters.

Zoran S (ca) wrote: The material is slight but this is wonderfully shot. Long takes, crane shots, and constant reframing make the film more engaging than it should be.

Beniamin M (fr) wrote: Am i the only one to realise that the story has no sense? I mean, mean protagonist and his closest family and friend have no real reason to stay in the hood. Come on, he has a job, he's good at studying, he has a mother who has a degree and pretty nice apartament... the list is pretty long. Everybody in this movie says how hard and dangerous is to live in this district, yet noone seems to look for a way out, except for Ricky.... who is so stupid that he scratches lottery tickets when some guys are trying to do drive by on him... really? The speech that Furious gives at bilboard is basically saying "Yes, we live in a shitty place, but we wont try to leave it, cause its our shitty place. And besides, its not our fault, it's the white people fault."Tre's mother says that she is trying to protect him so much, yet she never really does anything that would proove it. Hell, she even meets Furious in a restaurant that is clearly placed in "white" part of city....I could go on and on. Simply its an "OK" movie, but story is really bad if you think abut it for a minute...

Scott M (au) wrote: Very violent movie about a girl who is a closed book of no emotions. She gets a big painful tattoo after a man rapes her, and then returns to see him again so she can sodomize him with a giant dildo. Not for your kids for sure, but I enjoyed it for its mystery in the second half of the movie. I also read the book, and like both.
