Lee B (mx) wrote: I was honestly surprised with this documentary. The direction from Errol Morris was clever, and there was a bit more artistry at work in the high contrast lighting and framed reshooted scenes moreover of course the editing that goes into documentaries also left me carrying a whole scope of emotions going from sympathy to disdain over Fred Leuchter. Fred Leuchter himself is an interesting man despite his auspiscious ending. A humble and quirky man who maintained the electric chairs- strictly out of giving humane death to those who would die- Leuchter is portrayed as one who does things because he perceives it as being right- even in the face of being completely wrong in the face of the majority- because well somebody has to speak up for the minority and someone has to do it. Truly an odd take on life, it is worth a look see at least once, even if you are completely disgusted by his take on major contraversal subjects.

Troy F (jp) wrote: Death Wish 2 is a repeat of the first movie. This one's even more brutal (and unnecessarily graphic in certain scenes) and some parts are hard to watch. The big problem with this film is that in the first film, we understood Kersey's drive for vengeance and it explored street crime as a growing problem. Here it's just him up to his vengeance again, but cause we've seen it before, it has much less impact. This is simply Kersey killing muggers, period. Charles Bronson is still a badass killer and it's still watchable... when it's not a gratuitous rape scene or something darkly disturbing.
