Jennifer C (fr) wrote: Yeah, starring "Sandra Bullock" yet she is barely in there . . . I was bored out of my mind with this movie and the concept seemed way wacky. Not my kind of movie!

Julia W (kr) wrote: Both grass-fed and grain-fed meat (anti-biotics or not) contributes tremendously to global warming. The only solution is to stop eating meat. Too bad most Americans would rather eat a Big Mac once a day - if not more - and watch the planet, slowly, but surely, deteriorate. A job well done on the documentary.

Alex r (au) wrote: Aside from the Dark Knight, Hard Candy is one of Heath Ledger's strongest performances. This is an eccentric picture that tells an engaging story about addiction. Brilliantly acted and directed, Hard Candy is a fine picture that showcases Ledger's talents perfectly. The story is well constructed and it is a film that is hard to forget. With effective performances, this is a must see for any film lover who enjoys a powerful film that delivers an entertaining drama. The direction is very well done, and overall I really enjoyed the film despite the fact that in some areas, the film could have been better. However, Ledger's performance keeps things together and like I said, he does some terrific work here. I really thought that this was one of his best performances right up until his final role as the Joker. This is a raw, gritty in your face portrayal of addiction, and it shows us the costs of using. This is a film that is hard to get into due to its subject, but it is nonetheless a roller coaster ride into madness that you won't forget. In terms of a drama, Candy is one of those films that doesn't shy away from its subject that it displays on-screen. The cast keep you involved and it is a film well worth seeing. I thought the film was well made, but it is not a film that warrants multiple viewings, and it will stick with you for a while long after you've seen it. Candy has its imperfections, but its strengths lie within its subject matter and its raw, intense delivery of its performances from the cast.

Jeremiah K (jp) wrote: This movie surprised me in the fact that it didn't portray white people as gutter trash, like some other black comedies love to do. Instead,it focuses on Mays Gilliam (Rock) as he turns from being an alderman to being a candidate for President of the U.S. Now while this movie does have its comedic moments (such as when Rock gets people to dance to Nelly),it failed to deliver elsewhere. I didn't expect much from this movie, and in that sense,it did a very good job.

Bruno L (de) wrote: I didn't think it was that great. With a better-written and more believable story, this would have been 3, maybe 4 stars.

John T (ag) wrote: Loved this one. It's an Australian idie flick about a one night stand that lingers into a few days. It was really good. The one night stand turns into love. I think we can all relate to a one night stand lasting more than was intended.

Jen H (ru) wrote: I hatched you so you could play with me, not so you could throw Simon raves!Hey, it wasn't as bad as Manos.

Evan H (jp) wrote: This lost my interest very early on. The major stories, all collected from newspaper articles, are usually broken up by other stories, which seems to serve no other purpose than to draw away from the repetitive phrasings recounting the events over multiple printings. For the most part, its just boring, but I found the whispered voice-overs in some sections to be very irritating. I'm not sure what connection I was supposed to draw from the juxtaposed modern stories shot in color, either. Unless it was simply that people are still crazy in Black River Falls, but that doesn't seem very artistic, now does it?

James W (gb) wrote: After 10 minutes, I was enthralled. After one hour, I was amused. But after four hours, I was totally bored. This film begins as a future shock, which is very well done. It becomes a chase thriller, which is hammy fun. It ends as a piece about people doing nothing but looking at their own dreams, which is about as interesting as it sounds.

Christian M (mx) wrote: Really engaging for a film that's basically just two people having a conversation over dinner.

Christopher B (br) wrote: Quite an uninspired script filled with cheap one-liners fit only for a small town dinner theater put on for charity. The high art of mystery novels roasted in a small fireplace with the damper closed - making this a smoking room. The only reasons for watching this travesty is to see Dame Smith in the waning years of her MILF phase, Sellers reunited with Guiness, Cromwell in his shorts, Capote in front of the camera, & Walker puffing with pride.

Heather M (br) wrote: This was rather quirky and I enjoyed it.

Jason J (ag) wrote: An average post apocalyptic sci-fi horror even with Bruce Campbell as one of the leads. The problem is the movie attempts to cram far too much into a 90 minute time frame, which jumbled everything into a ridiculous, unexplained mess. This movie makes absolutely no sense, builds no tension, creates no suspense or character development of any kind while supplying gratuitous gore at times. Technically Mindwarp is OK, the sets are limited but it's obvious that the filmmakers were working on a low budget. It's worth a watch if you have the time to spare but don't expect anything brilliant
