Courtney K (ru) wrote: this was pretty cheesy: don't people know that if they scream, then the bad guys will know where they are?! also: they're lucky that there was exactly 1 desk in that very empty room so that they could break the window and escape... sheesh. talk about scripted! also also: that was a bad ending. but really; this wasn't that bad... i've seen worse. it's just very cliched. i thought their subplot was more interesting than their main plot, though -- too bad they weren't switched.
James L (nl) wrote: Creepy fun with some rude humor; Hotel Transylvania will find more then one audience....and it's also super fun trying to guess all the voice over artists in the many characters !
Heather E (kr) wrote: Very funny - a side to Vin Diesel I was not expecting - very touching as well.
Kevin S (nl) wrote: The way they ended this movie. I'm really hoping their is a sequel to this movie. Or else this movie goes around in a circle.. Which is weird..
Luis M (ag) wrote: As dumb as it is, this movie is hilarious and quotable as hell. It's as funny to me now as it was when I was a kid.
Jeff B (es) wrote: This was about as painful as watching Amanda Bynes' life unravel.
Neil G (ru) wrote: This is a great little movie. You get a real feel for the harsh, stinky, heat of the bad part of town.
George O (br) wrote: Nothing much happens in this film. I've heard the same storyline from people on public transport going home in early hours of the morning, I just feel like I've watched a recently dumped husband sell off his belongings. Some character development is good and Will Ferrell, Christopher Wallace and Rebecca Hall are all well cast making it interesting to watch from that standpoint. There's just not much there!
Elliott B (ca) wrote: More campy and slow paced then a standard horror, but it has a nice atmosphere.
John S (de) wrote: Objectively, The Sword of Doom is an intriguing story but the pacing is too messy and the plot too confusing to appreciate it. The action is satisfying enough but it definitely isn't non-stop as you might be expecting. The only real commendable aspects of the film are the stupendously menacing performance by the lead Tatsuya Nakadai and the uniquely powerful ending. EDIT: Upon second viewing, the subtle intricacies of The Sword of Doom become apparent, as do the harrowing story and unique plot. It is an outstanding Chanbara film for these reasons and it does feel truly intriguing to watch.
