Matt S (jp) wrote: A great family film about an orphaned cheetah and a brave and courageous boy Xan who takes him in a raises it and goes on an incredible, thrilling journey to bring him back to the wild. For his first movie I think that young actor Alexander Michaeletos is a natural in front of the camera and has tremendous chemistry with the cheetah making the fantastic story all the more real, effective and touching. I haven't seen a family film this intelligent and brave in a long time and I'm shocked that this didn't get a wide theatrical release because it pure quality of a picture with amazing south africa landscapes that would of been great to see on the big screen. This inspiring, emotionally involving journey has so much charm, loyalty, free spirit, adventure, intellect, wonder that any age will enjoy it and I can't believe how well trained these animals are in this movie it's astonishing. Overall if you like the movie Born Free you will absolutely love this diamond in the rough family adventure rare gem. Highly recommended.

Ron (Edward Furlong) a newbie in the world of convicts gets sentenced for the sale of drugs. While an inmate he meets a companion Earl (Willem Dafoe) who takes him under his wing and shows him the way of prison life. Together they portray the trials and tribulations of life on the inside. All there is left to do is to make it back out to freedom and life on the outside. There is a good pace throughout this movie even though it is not a fast, intense or emotional one. Steve Buscemi did a great job keeping everything on track and consistent. Even though this was no Shawshank it was fun to watch. It did end a little abruptly for my liking but I can't have everything. The only thing I really didn't like was that they made it seem like a cakewalk in jail. Any one who has been in or has known someone who has served time will know that it sucks more than they portrayed. While I wasn't dancing off my seat I was thoroughly impressed with this film. It kept me up watching at 2:30 A.M. and that sometimes is a feat in itself. If you enjoy prison films don't pass it up because this is a good one.

If you didn't like this movie, you're a stuck-up 'movie critic' who knows nothing about pure, real comedy. You have my permission to leave this planet. Fast. Consider a job in Palestine.

cody f (au) wrote: This film is just a treat. Walter Huston is a bat shit crazy rancher living it up in the twilight of his life. Stanwyck is his bat shit crazy daughter who wants to run the ranch hey way. Wendell Corey is a bat shit crazy gambler bent on revenge against Huston, but he and Stanwyck are in love. Judith Anderson is the bat shit crazy greedy new wife of Huston who wants his money and ranch. You put all of this together you have one really entertaing western from Anthony Mann. The story is really good, but the performances are what makes this movie run. This was Huston's last film and he goes out with a bang. This may be one of my favorite Stanwyck roles and that's saying a lot. Corey and Anderson also give amazing performances. I highly recommend this film, it's impossible not to have a good time.

Les interpretations de Bette Midler, de James Caan et de George Segal n'y sont pas pour rien, tout comme la bande-son, parfaite. Aussitot vu, aussitot oublie.
