(br) wrote: The Purge is a very underrated film. I am a huge fan of the story and how it is told in this film. A very unusual story to be told in film and I personally haven't seen anything like it before.

(jp) wrote: Literally a story about an intergalactic poacher that brought a foreign lifeform into an ecosystem in which the lifeform killed off the indigenous people. Then the poacher killed the monster and gets the girl. Silly story.

(ca) wrote: Okay so after I review the smash hit Under Siege the first film I have to review the second film which you both think it's not as good as the first, this is one of my favourites. It came out in 1995 where I was born and in some ways, yeah that's the way it is and in other ways it came out the same year as Pocahontas but in other ways the fight scenes are really great, in other ways it's fantastic, in other ways this is the best sequels ever made if not the best, oh boy, I'm just a sucker. The end fight scene is awsome and the train crash is absolutely fxxxking awsome. Eric Bogosian is pretty good in it and Morris Chestnut is hilarious in it as well. This is the one that I can think whilst looking at my collection! Holy sxxt!

(es) wrote: About half an hour into this film, your perspective on the world its created completely shattered in favor of a new matrix that crosses the boundaries of the fourth wall in a unique and indelible way without being completely interesting or memorable. This seeming paradox can easily be explained thusly; if someone asks you to list your favorite horror films, this one is not likely to come up, but if someone starts talking about movies playing with the fact that they are movies, this may be the first film on your mind.To say too much would spoil the fun, but it's hard to imagine the kind of experience one would have watching this film in the theatre, the way it was meant to be seen. Without a doubt, anyone seated in the standard rows of their local mulitplex would be able to catch other film patrons anxiously looking behind them every few minutes as if to assure themselves that the movie is a work of fiction. Though the story at the film's heart would be of little interest to anyone not suffering from ommetaphobia (though you're bound to gasp in shock at least once), the elements surrounding it and mindbending transit across the suspension of disbelief are enough to warrant at least one viewing.
(es) wrote: For me, it is more about independent sketches in the most extreme surrealist of Monty Python in their BBC program (which is maybe too much for me). However, it has a few ways to link the complete result that creates a few laughs, even although the overall result is not satisfactory enough, compared, at least, with the great reference of The life of Brian.

(gb) wrote: Boring, pretentious and illogical, Bardem's performance and a cameo by Johnny Depp are the only reasons to watch this.
