Clayton F (ca) wrote: An french flick, (damn those subtitles) about two twin brothers on there way to there mothers funeral.. They travel mostly by walking and get rides from strangers. The brothers do great work in acting out there hatred and love for each other, which I suppose was a little easier seeing as they are brothers in real life. so brother on the right with the blue shirt, is all up in a few girls faces, getting all freaky with it. the brother with the jacket participates once, but then they stop on a farm to work for a few days, to get some cash for the remainder of there journey. While there, there is another farm hand, that seems to have taken a liking to tan jacket brother. well they take a walk, a playful swim, and then.. welll you see some bare ass. in the mean time, bro with blue shirt, watches from a distance and then walks off, pretty pissed an shocked. ... the next day bro a hitching a ride out of town, other bro catches up hopes on trailer and off they go, leaving farmhand boy standing, staring trying to figure out why the tan bro is leaving... sad.. So basically there is it... yes they make it to moms funeral.. fight, then one of the brothers walks off, end scene.. what? are you fucking crazy, why is there no resolution there? why is there no talk about the other brother being gay? could have been so much better... for the ending alone, knocking the rating down a half star for the ending.
Timothy A (ag) wrote: Still charming yet slightly more sombre follow up, due in large part to restricting most of the original gang to cameos. It's a testament to Klapisch's writing that the film's central conceit, a relationship that obviously wasn't planned when the first instalment was made, is so easily forgiven. Romain Duris and Cecile de France are so good together that at times it's hard to care what else is going on.
Loren O (us) wrote: I really liked this movie because it started off like your typical teen movie, but it had an unexpected twist. I absolutely loved the soundtrack and the ending was amazing. Sarah Michelle Gellar was brilliant as the bitchy Kathryn and Ryan Philippe's camp womanizer Sebastian was definitely worth watching. I wasn't convinced by his romance with Reese Witherspoon's Annette as it just didn't seem passionate enough and there wasn't any real basis to their relationship in my opinion, but overall I thought it was a good movie with a brilliant ending and great music.
Devin C (nl) wrote: The animation is as good as the first film, but the art for the scenes are somewhat dull - something that's easy to do on photoshop. There are dark moments, but it doesn't capture the same feeling Don Bluth executed in the first movie. One song is quite catchy,but...that's just it! One song out of all the songs in the movie. This movie isn't entirely bad - but it's not well executed.
Danny R (kr) wrote: Neil Jordan's brilliant complex drama about a lonely working class ex-con named George, played magnificently by the late great Bob Hoskins, in an Academy Award nominated, Golden Globe winning performance, who has been released from prison after doing 7 years for taking the rap for a crime he did not commit for his slimy underworld boss, superbly played by Sir Michael Caine, who delivers a compelling menacing supporting performance. George soon is back on Caine's payroll, as an exclusive driver for a high class black call girl, Simone, played wonderfully by Cathy Tyson. George becomes obsessive with the exotic Simone and begins to fall in love with her. This will lead to a dark and bloody path for George and Simone. Astute direction by Neil Jordan, with fine supporting performances by Robbie Coltrane, Clarke Peters, Kate Hardie, Zoe Nathenson, and Sammi Davis. An 80s cinematic classic. Highly Recommended.

Francisco L (br) wrote: Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is an all age movie that doesn't suffer from common stereotypes that a normal coming-of-age movie has. Furthermore the cast was perfectly choosed, Thomas Mann gives here the most charismatic performance of its life until 2015. The story is touching, the script is well fundamented, organized and clever and the narrative is twisted and unpredictable.
