Kyle L (ru) wrote: Children Of The Corn Genesis is beyond one of the finest direct to DVD sequels and it is also better than the other Children Of The Corn movies. As for Dimension Extreme films this one isn't so bad unlike Hellraiser Revelations that film was mainly shot on a cheap budget because Dimension films was about to lose their rights to the franchise so the filmmakers just came up with a couple of quick ideas that became a failure to the Hellraiser series. But beyond that this film is better than Hellraiser Revelations. This is by far a great movie it wasn't so bad at all but it is better than most direct to DVD movies. This movie has a simple plot. It's about two couples Tim and Allie(played by a couple good casts name Tim Rock and Kelen Coleman) who seek shelter to an isolated house where the house is owned by a preacher(played by Billy Drago) and when they stay for the night they soon experience visions and hauntings in the house they soon learn that a child who is imprisoned in a shed is about to kill them both and the couple must escape because the kid is also after Allie's new child that she's about to give birth to. I personally find this film interesting and it was way better than Hellraiser Revelations. What I did like about this movie is that the film has lots of suspenceful sequences with lots of intense and crazy scares that was kinda jumpy but it fits well for the film. The way the film starts is really interesting and then the wild ride starts as the movie goes on we are first introduced to two characters and later on we meet Billy Drago who owns the house and when the couple enters the house they know that they're also in trouble and the suspense starts and mainly director Joel Soisson starts to push and put the pedal to the metal in the film with jam packing suspense and crazy and mind blowing effects that has no use of horrid CGI effects. All the suspense and tension in the film is really good I like the idea when all the items in the house starts to fly around and the door closes on it's own when Tim opens in it then closes by itself. There are so many good things about this film the scares are really effective you got lots of hauntings that reminds audiences of Poltergeist and other haunted house movies doen in a new and creepy style which makes this movie great and it makes me want to watch more plus the performances from the casts is incredible as well Billy Drago is one creepy actor in this movie since he was good in The Hills Have Eyes remake while the two main leads did an excellent job even though they're still new comers for movies like this so far. Although there are still some disappointing moments in the movie but unlike Hellraiser Revelations this movie doesn't have a lot of disappointing moments the main problem with this movie is that there's to many cliches and lacking of atmosphere and gore as well which was the real and main problem with the film but at least it doesn't have too many faults and problems like Hellraiser Revelations so it's an ok film. I kinda got disappointed with the ending so far the ending of the movie was really disappointing like the ending of Hellraiser Revelations as well which was super disappointing but the ending of this movie isn't so disappointing as Hellraiser Revelations plus the next thing I like about this film is that the main antagonist the little boy is really creepy because the kid doesn't speak and he's really mute plus the way he killed the officer was really freaky and I kinda like this film so I have to say that this movie is better than the horrid Hellraiser Revelations. Director Joel Soisson seriously did a better job with his directing on this film than what he did with Pulse 2 and 3 so he seriously was better in directing Children of The Corn Genesis so far and this movie may not be as good as the original movie but it is better than the other Children of The Corn sequels and it is even way better than the 2009 Syfy made for TV remake so far. Overall I'm giving this film a 7/10 and it's because this movie has some good moments but falls short due to some annoying cliches so far.

Vincent P (br) wrote: The whole thing is wrapped up in only the last three minutes and the rest, a whole lot of bicycling back-and-forth (and back-and-forth and back-and-forth) through the French countryside, grows real dull REALLY fast. I'll stick with the remake. Even though that flick had zero mystery about it, it managed to be a heck of a lot more enthralling (and had a far more satisfying conclusion).
