Ds W (es) wrote: Ratcatcher shows restraint, but also real beauty, telling a story every bit as, if not more visually the narratively. This movie could've gone over the top and still probably would've worked, but instead we get a tempered yet passionate portrayal of poverty in Glasgow. Coming of age stories ain't always pretty.

alex f (de) wrote: even like a bit of hip hop... you will adore this.terribly acting, a misplaced cast, no real plot, 80's rotted hip-hop... makes for a great watch (even without the comedy angle).

Spencer S (es) wrote: It wasn't a comedy, and it wasn't quite a drama. It was more like one large depression spiral of how two people can ultimately make each other unhappy no matter what they do. The music, which was Oscar nominated, was so sappy and 80's tinted that it drove me bananas, and Burt Reynolds was not his usual self confident self, but some tame invalid. Overall, it was very disappointing.

Kyle G (ag) wrote: Although the story is not inventive, it takes a backseat to the mesmerizingly serene photography anyway. I'd never truly want to live in '10s America, but Malick has awakened a naive longing in me to live for a year, or a few, on a farm like that during that period, or even in the village depicted, with its undeniable quaintness. The narration comes and goes but achieves maximum poignancy at the end, up to the last shot. Morricone delivers a meekly beautiful little score as well, that seems most effective during dusk scenes when the moon is out. The picture was a moving experience.

Eduardo J (mx) wrote: It's...A good movie. The problem is that doesn't have very logic in some things. And in some parts is very repetitive.
