Colin S (br) wrote: Nice flick to learn about the race and see what an endurance race can do to someone mentally and physically. That being said as someone who has biked the route (the route was designed as a touring route, not a race course) this documentary shows almost nothing of the vast terrain and beautiful locations that are visited while riding.

For anyone that has no idea what that story is about, this movie is a little hard to figure out. Most of it makes little sense until the end when you figure out why in the very last scene. I was going to give it a worse rating until that last scene. It kind of makes all the confusion a little more understandable (like why the main character, Yella, wears the same clothes in every scene of the movie).

Ben R (nl) wrote: So horrible that it doesn't even deserve a full star. The original is possibly a 2 star release and this is just the scum on the bottom of the barrel. Avoid!!!!!

Tevi S (ru) wrote: One of the best guilty pleasure ever made.. It's light, cool, touching, feel good and heart warming.. Watch it with the right spectacles and you will have fun..

David L (fr) wrote: Its voice work is lacking and some sequences are taken directly from previous year's film 'The Fox and the Hound', but The Plague Dogs has dark and creepy animation which fits well with the film's mood and the ending is greatly ambiguous and sad all leading to a great film which is unfortunately and undeservedly underrated or even forgotten.

Phil H (ag) wrote: So I'm betting this is a Neil Jordan film many haven't come across, a classically 80's production with a mix of your most well known 80's stars and some soon to be major stars. 80's golden boy Guttenberg is the lead here, alongside him are Beverly D'Angelo, Daryl Hannah, Jennifer Tilly, Peter Gallagher and Martin Ferrero, not forgetting British legends Peter O'Toole and Liz Smith with 'Fawlty Towers' star Connie Booth and Hollywood megastar Liam Neeson, hows that for a cast line up.The film is pretty spooktacular in a quirky 'Beetljuice' type fashion, crammed packed full of fun effects that admittedly now look pretty ropey but definitely part of the charm. Glorious location with the real Irish 'Dromore Castle' as the backdrop and a plot that focuses on Ireland's ghostly folklore in a family fun 'Addams Family' way. Some sequences are actually a little eerie though, the nuns with 'Jawa' like eyes, skeletal spectres flying around, various shots of the castle from afar and some nice interior corridor/room work makes you feel in the mood :)Lots of hokey set/model work which still just about works, some really nice corpse makeup in places, a good kooky soundtrack befitting Ireland and the supernatural element plus the odd good chuckle. Think of this as a slightly more grown up version of 'The Haunted Mansion', a nice sweet film with Daryl Hannah looking her best.
