I thoroughly enjoyed the book; however, when I found out that Tyler Perry, and not Idris Elba, would be starring as the title character, I already knew I wouldn't enjoy it as much as I should. Tyler Perry is a very good director and a strong actor, but I think he came off "too strong". In my opinion, he was overworking the role to distinguish himself from his well-known Madea, instead of just being "Alex Cross". Matthew Fox does an admirable job in the role of the villain. But Perry and Fox didn't stand a chance with making this movie as strong as the book with the haphazard direction of Rob Cohen.

(es) wrote: David O' Russell's Three Kings is a fantastic movie that was probably what people didn't expect it to be. It does seem like David O' Russell focuses on the characters a lot which I'm perfectly fine with as they are memorable. That's not the only aspect that he focused on as he focus on the humor which is really funny, and the plot which is really good and a bit unexpected s this takes place after the Gulf War when some of the characters basically have nothing else better to do. The action is really good and exciting that's like Anthony and Joe Russo when they did Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it's unexpected to see a comedy director that direct action scenes, especially if they are done well. The writing is really good, and the acting from Mark Wahlberg, Ice Cube, George Clooney, and Spike Jonze are really great. My mom would probably think that Three Kings is an all right film as it's really weird like David O' Russell's other films, which I also think that it's weird, but it's a "weird masterpiece" as the late Roger Ebert quoted this film.

(fr) wrote: While an interesting story, and I can definitely understand the controversy, director Kapur never really seems able to explore his talents to their full extent. Plus, I really hate when biopics cut out before some of the most interesting times in their subjects' lives and fill in the rest with an epitaph.
(mx) wrote: These kinds of flicks are guilty pleasures for me. Aenigma plays like a rip-off Carrie Suspiria blend but it was fun all the same. Only for Fulci or italian horror lovers!
(es) wrote: With cartoonishly brutal violence, great flare and ruggedly artistic style and design, George Miller delivers a very entertaining Mad Max sequel.

(br) wrote: This Sequel got stuck up way too far it's own ass. It is less griddy, has less story, more dialogue, and some really bad costumes. Even the final fight didn't work, so there is not a lot to wait for.
