Sam M (us) wrote: You can tell that they tried, but the outcome, acting, and atmosphere is poor. The idea is semi-original but the dialogue just sucks. Nothing but a few jump scares here and a few gorey scenes there.

Pan C (ca) wrote: The definitive movie about teenagers chased by security robots in a mall. Unfortunately, camp value isn't everything. The way people die in pairs, the general lack of pacing, the complete change of direction both the teenagers and the movie seems to make about every five minutes, it doesn't really help the experience along. While one part of me really wants to rate this as an enjoyable movie, the other part thinks that's stupid. Not the best silly horror movie you'll ever see.

Dann M (de) wrote: The indie film Whale Rider is an engrossing character drama with an inspirational message. The story follows a 12-year-old Maori girl named Paikea Apirana who struggles to earn her grandfather's love and respect, but is neglected and belittled as he seeks to find a new chief to lead the Maori tribe. The relationship between Paikea and her grandfather is exceptionally well-written and feels remarkably real. But a lot of the credit has to go to newcomer Keisha Castle-Hughes, who gives an amazingly heartbreaking performance that's incredibly compelling. Touching and powerful, Whale Rider is extraordinarily well-crafted film.

Gwen H (ca) wrote: How did they make this into such a boring movie? Good cast, historical interest, - maybe not enough suspense. Were all men at that time so awful?
