Adam S (nl) wrote: I love this film. Technically, I'm not sure it's the greatest film ever made by Woody Allen, but who cares, when the end product is this much damned fun?Taking more than a liberal dose of inspiration from the classic film "Casablanca", "Play It Again Sam" shows Woody Allen in his typical neurotic persona, slowing falling in love with his best friends wife, played by Diane Keaton. Comedy comes thick and fast, with the best friend (Tony Roberts) creating a memorable running gag with his constant phone calls, and the ghost of Humphrey Bogart giving (sometimes questionable) advice to Allen throughout the film. The storyline isn't exactly groundbreaking, and we've seen it before, but it is just way too much fun to deny. A comedy classic.
Martin C (es) wrote: A premises that should be a winner - at least for me - a group of elite troops sent in to clear out an ultra secret base in the outback of Australia, which has gone off-line. It starts promising enough but never quite delivers, and even though, as the title suggets, it sets in a very confined environment it never really uses it to best effect as was the case with The Descent. While the cast are all fine, the direction and story don't really give them enough to lift out of being a very average effort
