Project Nim

From the team behind Man on Wire comes the story of Nim, the chimpanzee who in the 1970s became the focus of a landmark experiment which aimed to show that an ape could learn to communicate with language if raised and nurtured like a human child. Following Nim's extraordinary journey through human society, and the enduring impact he makes on the people he meets along the way, the film is an unflinching and unsentimental biography of an animal we tried to make human. What we learn about his true nature - and indeed our own - is comic, revealing and profoundly unsettling.

Tells the story of a chimpanzee taken from its mother at birth and raised like a human child by a family in a brownstone on the upper West Side in the 1970s. . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

Spike V (nl) wrote: I've been a supporter of this project from the beginning and I'm very happy it materialized. It generally is a good nerd film, it raises some really interesting issues and you can tell this was made with the heart, I just think they dropped the ball after the second plot twist and it's a real shame. But don't get me wrong, the flick is solid and quite enjoyable, even an impressive debut of so much talent.

Meredith W (ru) wrote: A blast from the past with a fantastic 80s soundtrack. That aside, it is likeable enough, though Topher Grace is quite Eric Formany in his 'I don't know what I want to do with my life' confusion.

Randy P (au) wrote: Annoyingly tedious, shallow, and nothing more then a teen girl fantasy pleaser.
