(kr) wrote: Cute african story with nice characters.. it doesn't reach the "purity" of Kirikou but it's absolutely worth watching with kids for its meaning and the values it shows.
(au) wrote: Didn't care for the last half of the film. The first part displayed both leads perfectly and really did justice to the intriguing trailer that comes with this film. The second half fell into annoying and too odd to be the same film. Sure it's based on a true story, but someone should have taken some liberties. Not sure if I will see this again.

(mx) wrote: Horrible acting, directing, and an almost non-existent plot. Plus the repetitive music and the constant nickname usage was just plain annoying. I have nothing good to say about this movie.
(us) wrote: my tolerance for long movies is extremely low so i wasn't excited to watch this 201 minute movie. moreover, all of the action unravels in real time, which means the routine processes of cooking, bathing, eating, and cleaning are shown in full with no interruptions.but showing these actions the way they are is absolutely crucial to akerman's slow unraveling of a woman living under the rigid confinement of gender roles and expectations. it's a pretty powerful feminist statement.
(jp) wrote: Guns of the Magnificent Seven has a better ensemble than the other sequels (not counting the newest), but it ultimately feels formulaic and slapped together. This at times causes tonal dissonance (see the scene where the blaring theme song halts when the Seven come across villagers who were hanged from telephone poles, then the music picks right back up as they move along like nothing happened). Joe Don Baker's and Bernie Casey's character arcs are totally predictable. This film is too similar to the original to really justify its existence.
