While technically more adept than its predecessor (the Hitchcockian finale is certainly striking), the humor focused more bluntly on the Bond series' racism, bringing a nastier taste to the script. Still, there's some good far-reaching gags - one involving a paddle-boat - just fewer for me this time around.

Story is about Crawford (Hopkins) trying to kill his wife when he found she was cheating with another man. Now a young but great attorney must find him guilty but its seems hard because Crawford is a tricky one.. I enjoyed this movie with a nice little twist at the end.

I remembered the elaborate and impressive single take action scenes, but couldn't remember what had appealed to me (except the memorable use of King Crimson ... that I remembered vividly). I thought that maybe if I watched it again it would turn out to be a film that impressed in the theater but fizzled on repeat viewing. Not it isn't. Cuaron constructs a remarkably realistic and convincing world. The problem might be that, much like "Gravity", I'm blown away by the craft involved, but largely uninterested in the story.

(kr) wrote: Way to slow... dragged on so much that the messages were lost in mediocrity. Fun to look back at the time period though!
(au) wrote: The Ultimate Diva Ms. Diana Ross does her theatrical thing again! Billy Dee Williams always setting her straight when need be! He was a bit of jerk too in this film (in my opinion). *KUDOS TO ALL FASHIONISTA!*
(es) wrote: Quality movies, well told and acted. Time well spent.
(au) wrote: the performances are refreshing, visuals are eye catching and the overall impact of the movie is solid.

(it) wrote: Horrible and unnecessary movie. Not to mention the atrocious butchering attempt at faking the Colombian accent which is all around cringe-worthy - this (fictional) movie had no purpose or business being made.
