Rags

Rags follows the story of Charlie Prince, an orphan living with his acerbic and unloving stepfather and spoiled, simple-minded stepbrothers. Charlie's dream is to be a singer, and while he is vocally talented and can write music, he can't seem to catch a break. Kadee Worth, on the other hand, is the daughter of music mogul Reginald Worth and is an international pop phenomenon. While the world knows her as a glamorous superstar, she is secretly frustrated with singing other people's songs and wearing clothes other people choose for her. Kadee wants the world to hear and see her true talent. Despite every obstacle that gets thrown in their way, once Charlie and Kadee find one another, they each finally get what they have been looking for – a voice, a stage, an audience and each other.

Considered as a Cinderella story with a twist, the movie follows the story of Charlie Prince, a hard working teen and Kadee Worth, a superstar with an overprotective music mogul father. Two worlds collide when they bump into each other on the street. . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

James M (jp) wrote: Some top gangster actors here with Vincent (Goodfellas/Sopranos), Pastore (Sopranos), Caan (The Godfather) and Provenzano, who acts and directs and is also currently in jail for racketeering. However this is still the one of the worst films ever, ever made. Every possible cliche is used, terrible acting and story, and an ending that just stops. Vincent, Pastore & Caan, why do you show us such disrespect. Provenzano hopefully you will be in jail for some time and not be able to release any more films. I give it half a star and not none, just so no one thinks I forgot to rate it. This film should be whacked. Forget about it!

Rodrigo R (es) wrote: It has its merits, yeah, but central plot and portrayal of mental conditions are painfully silly and ignorance-revealing.

Henrik S (br) wrote: A solid giant monster movie that is suffering from the limitation due to the choice of the giant adversary of mankind. Yes, Harryhausen did his best to animate the giant octopus and hell, it looks good as usual, but there is only so much you can do with a giant beast living in the water. Once it took on a ship and a bridge, that's about it, which is plenty but not enough to make this a masterpiece because there is essentially no showdown between the heroes and the monsters as they cannot come face to face. Also, the Octopus is kind of less menacing than it could be, because it's motivation is kind of innocent and feral instead of vile (like a giant spider or shark), so I kind of feel bad for it. All in all, you will enjoy this if you are a fan of b-movies, Harryhausen, science mumbo jumbo and cheesy acting. Kenneth Tobey is actually quite good but there is not much material to work with here. The forced 'love interest' is going nowhere. I am not sure if the director tried to create something edgy but the bizarre love-triangle thing really puzzled me, but it does not matter, because it feels out of place in the first place anyway. Good for genre enthusiasts and Harryhausen fans

Paul D (fr) wrote: This is based on a true story that I have been obsessed with since 1993! This does not do the real story any justice at all. If you really want the true story, watch West of Memphis instead. It is a masterpiece compared to this snoozer!
