Pero mejora en la segunda parte (Hulk vs. Wolverine) con sus dementes y sanguinarios personajes y su trama saturada de violencia y humor negro.

Like you have never seen it, but you are not that senile , you are sure you saw it. Yet...Shutter Island comes to my mind as exactly that type of film. Then again, there are other, maybe even imperfect films, but they somehow stick in your mind - the atmosphere, characters & scenes, nearly everything, even years after you saw these films for the first time. Imperfect though it is, East is East is bound to stay plastered in your mind. You'll remember the hooded boy and nearly all of his "bastered" siblings and their struggle against their father's attempt to make them follow traditional Pakistani way of life in England of the 70s. Father tried with all his will to make them follow the rules that even he himself didn't follow by having married an Englishwoman. The title East is East alludes to the familiar passage from Kipling's "Ballad of East and West": "East is East and West is West,/ and never the twain shall meet." This attitude of irreducible contrast between East and West presents Father's vision and it will be questioned throughout the film while his six sons and one daughter rebel against him in attempt to convince him that for them there are just West or, at the very best, East is West. At part more a documentary about Pakistani minority in England than a feature film, and with a slightly underdeveloped plot, it is still enjoyable to watch and funny at many times. All in all, although it is not that successful and accomplished a film as Sixty-Six, another report of minority living in England (this time it is about Jewish community living in England of about the same time), I am glad the film was made and hopefully more and better "sequels" will follow. Clashes of traditions are a millenium old theme but it almost always work and while we are different or feel different one from another, it will stay that way.
