Al S (br) wrote: A terrific film. I loved every minute of it. Truly wonderful and outstanding. A great story of family and redemption. An astonishing masterpiece of the finest for drama. It's funny, touching and powerful. Compelling, riveting and unforgettable. Josh Lucas and Christopher Walken are fantastic. A great pair, their chemistry is so true, honest, complex and remarkable. Walken is outstanding, one of his best performances ever. An excellent soundtrack filled great old tunes. Deeply moving and utterly heartbreaking. A delightful and terrific road trip that cant turn away from.

Guy G (kr) wrote: [B-/70] A somewhat contrived and half-baked melodrama, pulling in various directions at once (family comedy, heist caper, a send-up on the expectations between fathers and sons) that nevertheless is salvaged by the modestly satisfying performances of a talented cast, in particular Sean Connery as a roguish grandfather-thief. The movie seems to be trying to say something deep about loyalty and life and taking valuable chances, but the script is not altogether articulate or thought-out enough, although the pacing and acting keep the mood engaging and interesting. All in all, more than passably entertaining and often fun.

Amber B (ca) wrote: For a fan of the old horror films, this is amusing to watch, but has little substance. A cop-out of an ending, which makes several earlier scenes unnecessary and even absurd, but fun to watch if you just want the atmosphere and don't want to think about logic.
