Sean W (jp) wrote: Sometimes you need the occasional mushy 90s film to get yourself through the day. What better form than this touching story about the robot who wants to be human. It may be a well-trodden idea, but Bicentennial Man has just enough heart, humour and Robin to make it a really great watch.

Ian M (jp) wrote: Oh dear... What a disappointment. Thought this was supposed to be a horror classic, but it's classically bad! The continuity in the movie is absolutely dreadful, the way the montage happens at times in flashes is the very worst of 80s cinema, it's too dark to see what's going on in places, some of the scenes are so drawn out you really couldn't care, and as for the characters? Every single one has an attitude problem, and you don't get to know them long enough to actually care! You wish they all would die, and sadly the deaths are crap too... Thank god there wasn't a sequel...

Nadia H (nl) wrote: From the reviews I have read most people complain about the soundtrack. I actually liked it. The acting and dialog was lacking though; I was left wanting more out of them and they just didn't deliver. The chemistry was all wrong, and the filming took away from what could have been salvaged of the plot. It's rated as a thriller, but there was nothing really thrilling about it.the thing that caught my attention the most was nothing to do with the story; things scribbled on the walls such as '911 was an inside job'; when Rick said: 'It's the end of the world- do what you want!'; and the way certain things were filmed. that is what kept my attention, and I thought that maybe there's something deeper than the actual movie here; an underlying message. I think I was mistaken. So ... I didn't really learn anything new, and didn't come away with anything mind-boggling :D [i've looked everywhere for the soundtrack but I can't find it (which is saying a lot!) ... so if someone comes across this and knows where to find a link to it; i'd be grateful.]
Rodney G (au) wrote: There are many reasons I love this movie.. thinking about it now I'm tempted, well , actually thinking of how to re-write it to make it even better.. they really should do a re-make. The reasons..One, the plot is strange and draws you in slowly. Seduces you over a two hour period, who dosen't like that? Two, Albert Finney. A great and underrated actor who adds character to an already hauntingly beautiful story. Three, I love New York, and just love to see it in movies. After researching material for an article recently, an article about street gangs in New York I became even more fascinated with this city. I visited it once in my youth and was mesmerized and vowed I'd return one day..
